REGISTRATION CHECKLIST 2016 GOLDEN AGE GAMES Send Registration Form so that it will be received no later than Thrusday, April 5, 2018 with list of participants. Keep a copy of registration form with list of participants, so it can be updated the day of games. Send Release forms to physicians, residents and responsible party for signatures. Send Entry Fee. Make a banner for your facility (using the theme Out to Sea ) Make creative hats for members of your group. Come up with your Best Costume or T-Shirt. Plan food for residents with special diets. Collect extra clothes, pads, small bags for disposal as needed. Bring medications for residents as needed. Bring food & equipment that you signed up for. Bring enough Bingo cards for your players. Make nametags for residents participating this makes it easier for those running the games to get the information for the score sheets (resident name and facility name). Please be aware that each facility is responsible for bringing food for any resident on special diets, as well as medications or other special needs. We also ask that each facility bring small bags to bag up any used briefs before placing in trash cans. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Activity Directors should make a special effort to make sure their residents know what is going on and promote the Golden Age Games. Thanks!

Rules for Golden Age Games Medals will be awarded for 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd places in each event. Participants may be called back in case of a tie. HORSESHOES The stake will be 8 feet from the throw line Each participant will get 3 throws Scoring: Ringer 3 points Leaner 2 points Within one horseshoe distance from the stake 1 point Participant with the most points is the winner BOWLING Participants will use a ramp when bowling Bowling will be from a distance of 18 feet Each participant will roll 2 balls (each ball rolled at 10 pins) Participant who knocks down the most pins is the winner Participant may sit or stand COW MILKING Participants may use 2 hands Total amount of fluid will be recorded in cc s If unable to use both hands, one hand may be used and amount will be doubled. Top 3 participants with the largest amounts in 1 minute will be the winners. BASKETBALL TOSS A basketball-sized ball will be used The ball will be thrown into a wide-mouth receptacle 8 feet from the throwing line Participants may sit or stand Participants get 3 throws Most baskets wins

BINGO Three (3) games will be played After 3 rd game, a playoff will take place between the winners for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd places. DANCE CONTEST Participants will be given a number to wear Dance partners can be other residents, staff, volunteers, or family TRIVIA The game will begin at the same time as the dance and continue through the hog calling contest The members of each facility will make up their own teams There will be 3 categories teams will receive one category at a time Teams will have 15 minutes per category to answer questions Turn in one answer sheet and receive the next one until all 3 categories are complete Team gets one point for each correct answer HOG CALLING Any resident may enter Participants will take turns at the microphone calling their hogs Judges may pick finalists to compete in a call-off if necessary

MEDALS AND TROPHIES A gold medal will be presented to each first-place winner. A silver medal will be presented to each second-place winner. A bronze medal will be presented to each third-place winner. TRAVELING SPIRIT CUP A traveling Spirit trophy will be awarded to the team who displays the most team spirit throughout the day. A plaque is given the next year to replace the trophy when it is returned. This includes their banner, decoration of their facility members, wheelchairs, signs, pennants, etc.; grand salute during opening ceremony; involvement of residents in cheers/songs/skits; cheers throughout the day; and creativity. TRAVELING BANNER Each facility is requested to create a banner. Using your own imagination, it should depict the theme chosen that year with your facility s name displayed on it. This banner can be displayed in front of your group s seating area for the opening ceremony. A traveling trophy will be given to the facility with the best banner. A plaque is given the next year to replace the trophy when it is returned. CREATIVE HAT AWARD Each facility can participate by creating their own TEAM hat, using whatever materials they wish. These hats vary from innovative, to imaginatively original, cleverly innovative or artistically beautiful. The sky is the limit! The hat with the most creativity will be awarded our Creative Hat trophy. BEST COSTUME OR SPECIALTY T-SHIRT AWARD Each facility can participate by creating their own costume or specialty T-shirt using whatever materials they wish, but corresponding to the present theme being used. The Costume or Specialty T-Shirt showing the most creativity will be awarded our Best Costume or Specialty T-Shirt Award.

Highest possible score is 60 points Banner Decorating of area, wheelchairs, signs, pennants, etc. Grand Salute during opening ceremony Involvement of residents in cheers/songs/skits Cheers throughout the day Creativity TOTAL SCORE The SPIRIT award is about showing team pride, team spirit and teamwork. Please keep in mind that the loudest facility may not mean more spirit, just more people. Any size team should have an equal chance to win. A traveling trophy will be given to today s winner and a plaque is given to last year s winner, replacing the trophy that moves on.
