First we have the UK team with many local stars who my recognize, the USA who have a large team here this year low numbers but a large team, next we have France the new French president offered to attend our games but since his glamorous wife couldn t make it we declined so as Del boy would say please bid our garlic mon amee s a warm avoir. Here we have Australia who I am told are enjoying our fine climate here, it s a nice change for them. Next it s China who are hoping to have a small scale version of our games later this year, I m sure they lean a lot about how to run them by watching how the professionals do it. Now it s Germany the country that has given the world so much, quality Cars two world wars the list is endless. well lets hope they can win something for a change. Yes its only six countries but let me assure you it would have been more but these teams have already filled all of Carrickfergus s Hotels Now for the moment we all been waiting for, this is torch has traveled all the way from Ellis street, I believe there was some protests at prospect downs but it has made it safely. First of its our own local boy representing Great Britain Jonathan Boggs lets see how he gets on.. Will that be enough to go unbeaten? Next is the young Australian hopeful Joshua Johnston Well one of the best young talents coming forward at the moment. Now it s the turn of Marcus McAuley from France who may I say speaks perfect English Well he may put us to shame on the language front but he won t win any medals this year. Matthew Cooke the next to have a go is from China and indeed this is his first trip out of his native country for the youngster.. I wouldn t want to be him on his return after that embarrassing display. The German Matthew Ellis will now test himself against the best That s the strongest result he s had this year. Our American champ is Bill Crothers he should be good at this event as I m told his grandmother was a Comanche. Just as well fast food in America is now McDonalds and not buffalo. That event has finished just in time as I m told the clay pigeon event is about to start. Great Britain s Nathan Adams is up first. Well that woke up the crowd if nothing else. Nicholas Lawrence from China is next. Oh yes this boys a natural. Jamie McDowell represents Germany but I wonder if someone so small can have the strength required for such an event.. Well what a character that lad is. The French man Scott Penrose is up next and I m told he s a great hit with the ladies with many here today to support him. Ryan McFaul From down under has chosen a side by side gun for today s shoot so lets see how he gets on.. Well that s got to be good enough for a medal at least. The German Richard Byers is next but just look at him every inch the Olympian we could be in trouble here. Well that s got to be good enough for a medal. Now the shot put event will be opened by Euan Watson of Great Britain. Euan has shown why he s the best in Britain and that s a personal best. Andrew Wright the Chinese hopeful will now take his turn.. And that s another good showing from the Chinese. The French man William Cloete is a big danger here having won gold at the 2004 Olympics.. FINALE CLOSING CEREMONY ALL BOYS INC TC like opening but include Globe and Talk about different races etc. and Sing Jesus loves the little children As the boys come in and make a circle they represent the different countries of the world having put aside their differences to unite under the Olympic flag. Just like this we must put aside our deference s and be united in Christ. For if Jesus is lifted up he will draw all men to himself. Our savior came to save all the people of the world, Jesus says in Matthew 8:11:I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. When the Olympic selection committee chose their team, the athletes lose sight of the trivial things in life and work tirelessly to be ready for the games, giving up the things which would hinder their performance, so we must accept Christ s call to come to him and serve in the knowledge that we are doing something far greater than competing in a games event that most people will forget. We are playing for an eternity spent with him. Sing Song. Every body out and get changed for prize giving. Send them home and breathe a sigh of relief.
