Dear Superstar Volunteer, It is almost time for the seventh edition of the Allianz Championship and we need your help to make it just as amazing as ever! Volunteers are the backbone of tournament operations. From welcoming the pros the moment they arrive in Boca Raton to delivering ice cold water and snacks throughout the golf course, we could not host this premier event without volunteers! At the 2013 Allianz Championship you will have your opportunity February 4-10 at The Old Course at Broken Sound to get up-close and inside the ropes with the greats of the game like defending champion Corey Pavin, Tom Lehman, Boca Raton resident Bernhard Langer, Fred Funk, Jay Haas, Nick Price, Fuzzy Zoeller, Jeff Sluman, Kenny Perry and many more legends of golf! There are numerous possibilities for you to volunteer. Golf knowledge is not necessary to volunteer, just that you have a positive attitude, willingness to help, and are ready to watch great golf! All volunteers are required to purchase the $65.00 volunteer package. For a full review of committees and a detailed list of the volunteer package, please see the attached documents. There are also opportunities for junior volunteers, grades 6 12. Junior volunteer registration fee is $10 and will receive an official tournament t-shirt, headgear, meals, parking, and volunteer badge. 2013 ALLIANZ CHAMPIONSHIP VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS & PACKAGE Volunteer Requirements Volunteers are required to work at least three (3) shifts to qualify for the complimentary round of golf. A shift counts as a morning or an afternoon. Shifts can vary between 4-6 hours. If you would like to work additional days or hours, it would be greatly appreciated. Training and uniform distribution will be held during the weeks prior to tournament. You will be notified in advance to schedule. Training is also available online for your convenience. Please alert your chairman or the tournament office if any changes affect your availability. Volunteer Package is $65.00 and includes: Uniform package with the Allianz Championship logo. One (1) headgear piece with Allianz Championship logo. One (1) volunteer badge. Four (4) Good-Any-Day Grounds Tickets. Volunteer parking and meals on scheduled work days. One (1) golf voucher for one (1) complimentary round of golf at The Old Course at Broken Sound. The pass will be mailed out posttournament following verification of three (3) shift minimum. 2013 ALLIANZ CHAMPIONSHIP VOLUNTEER ACKNOWLEDGMENT, RELEASE, WAIVER AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT In consideration for the opportunity to provide services and engage in related activities on a volunteer basis (collectively, Volunteering ) at and during the Allianz Championship (the Championship ) in Boca Raton, Florida, do hereby covenant with Pro Links Sports ( PLS ), Allianz Life, the Champions Tour, PGA TOUR, The Golf Channel, and all sponsors of this Event, including their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates, officers, employees and agents (collectively, the Releasees ), that I will not sue or bring any legal action or proceeding against any of the Releasees for or on account of any loss, damage, injury or death that I may sustain by virtue of or arising out of Volunteering at the Championship. These presents may be pleaded as a complete defense to any action or other proceedings which may be brought, instituted, or taken by me, my heirs or legal representatives against any of the Releasees in breach of this agreement, reserving unto me the right to proceed against any and all other parties which may be involved in such action or proceeding. I acknowledge that Volunteering at the Championship is without assumption of responsibility or risk of any kind by any of the Releasees and none of the Releasees makes any warranties of any kind with respect to Volunteering. I understand the existence of and assume the entire risk of all dangerous conditions arising from and inherent in Volunteering and waive any and all specific notice of the existence of such conditions. I acknowledge that PLS has the right to dismiss, relieve or reassign me in action being brought for or on behalf of myself on account of any injury or damage sustained by me while Volunteering or during the Championship, I will be personally responsible to, and agree to repay to, any of the Releasees and hold each of them harmless against any amounts recovered in connection with any such action and all related costs incurred by such Release. I further give PLS, or anyone authorized by PLS, the absolute right and permission, to use, re-use, edit, publish, and republish my name and biographical material about me and photographic portraits, pictures or video of me, or in which I may be included in whole or in part, or composite or distorted in character, or form, in brochures and other materials which promote, publicize, advertise, and otherwise exploit the Championship (collectively, the Materials ) in perpetuity. I waive any right that I may have to inspect or approve the finished product of the advertising or other copy that may be used in connection with the Materials or their use. This Waiver and Release is executed by me not in satisfaction of any damages sustained nor as compensation for injuries, nor in settlement of any claim for damages. Said opportunity for Volunteering is offered as consideration for this covenant and agreements contained therein. 2013 ALLIANZ CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS Assignments are based on availability and your requested schedule. We will attempt to assign you to your first choice. Some assignments require more time and/or pre or post tournament week availability. Each committee will operate Monday through Sunday with AM/PM shifts. Exceptions to these times are noted. Admissions/Will Call: Assist with checking credentials and distribution of pairings guides to spectators. Provide information and assistance to patrons of the tournament. Manage and operate Will Call procedures. Needed Monday-Sunday. Caddies: Assist with caddie registration. Distribute and collect towels, caddie bibs, etc. Maintain caddie lounge area and answer questions. Needed Monday-Sunday. Carts: Inventory, maintenance and distribution of carts for tournament staff and officials. Early morning shifts are required. Needed Monday- Sunday. Corporate Hospitality: Serve as concierge for all corporate hospitality areas. Assist security to ensure only properly credentialed guest are allowed access in designated areas. Distribute daily pairings guides and programs. Needed Monday-Sunday. Course Distribution: Responsible for the distribution of water, beverages, fruit and snacks to specified areas on course. Long Drive: Be a part of the Shot Link Scoring System. Measure players shots from tee box to fairway. Mandatory training provided Friday, February 10 prior to beginning of play. Must be available to work all three days. Needed Friday-Sunday. Marshals: Maintain ease of movement for players, caddies and officials by controlling noise and gallery activities. Starting times may vary according to hole assigned. Needed Monday & Wednesday-Sunday. Miscellaneous: If you do not fill in a committee request, we will place you on a committee with the most need. Needed Monday-Sunday Player Hospitality: Register Champions Tour players and assist with their needs and questions during tournament week. Serve as concierge for player hospitality area. Needed Monday-Sunday. Player Transportation: Provide transportation for players, their families and VIP guests before, during and after week of event, to and from hotel, golf course and airport. Inventory range balls, towels etc. Work range & putting green in conjunction with pro shop. Arrange facilities for amateurs and operate amateur range on pro-am days. Must know golf cart etiquette and how to drive a golf cart. Needed Monday- Sunday. Scoring Control: Work with PGA TOUR Scoring to radio scores to manual leaderboards and calligraphy boards. Update Media center leaderboard. Needed Friday-Sunday. Scoring Tent Runners: Walk completed scorecard and copies to scoring central, main scoreboard and media tent. Needed Friday-Sunday. Standard Bearer: Walk inside the ropes with a group of pros. Carry group identification signs for 18 holes. Needed Friday-Sunday. Television: Assist The Golf Channel with tournament production, including spotter scorers, microphone operators and walking repeaters. Needed Friday-Sunday. The Golf Channel requests volunteers to work all three days, if possible. Tournament Office: Assist the tournament office with various administrative needs.
