P B A G o l f L e a g u e H i s t o r y The Piedmont Bowling Association (PBA) Golf League was founded in 2004 by bowlers who wished to have a competitive format for golfing during the summer that would run much like a bowling league. Our first season was played at Laurel Ridge Golf Club in Palmyra, VA. Since the 2005 season, we have played at Old Trail Golf Club in Crozet, VA. Our league trophy was designed and donated to the league by Jim Andrews. Each season the winner(s) have an engraved plate added to the trophy. We have now completed 14 seasons. Surprisingly, we have yet to have anyone card a hole-in-one. For the 2013 season, we started an Ace Jackpot competition to award the league member who first accomplishes this feat with a cash prize. At the end of the 2017 season, the jackpot was valued at $1255. The league has been played using a variety of formats depending on membership and ideas. The league standings history shown below will provide a brief summary of that season s format. We will look forward to continued success with our group of bowlers-turned-golfers for the summer. Of course, we will welcome newcomers that have not yet picked up the great sport of bowling. 2017 League Champs
