Tasmanian Gun Club Inc Evandale Newsletter for November 2013 The Weather has been fairly uncooperative since the last newsletter making some bleak shooting on Wednesday and some very challenging skeet in the winds...looks like that may be behind us as the weather for the skeet carnival was great...time to break out the sunscreen. The wet conditions leading up to the Skeet Carnival made preparing the grounds a huge last minute effort. Many thanks to Darrel, Trevor, Bob and Marg for putting in the time. It looked a treat, with much favourable comment from the visitors. Now that its drying up we can get on with some other jobs around the range. We need to cart in a fair bit of fill/topsoil to finish the landscaping around the balltrap so if you know of any that can be diverted our way please let me know. We now have two more token boxes to fit. This gives us token operation on 5 ranges...2 DTL and 3 Skeet/DTL. What we need to do is bury the cables from the trap house to the token boxes. They don't have to be deep and the ground is pretty soft at the moment. Help is needed for a few hours. Saturday 9th would be a good day before it dries out..please email me if you can help am/pm..... We held a small corporate day for a bucks party group on 19 October...mostly non shooters. Darrel worked wonders getting them onto the targets and it seemed they all went away happy...please spread the word we need more like this.

Wednesday practice has been well supported even with the bleak weather...wind has certainly made the the skeet interesting. Now the skeet carnival is over the compact sporting range is open and hopefully can be developed as funds become available. The Balltrap, as usual will be open for practice on Wednesday. This month's comp is on the 10th November (10am) 50T Pointscore and 50T Balltrap This month we have a receipt section for the adventurous...thanks Sharon...reproduced as received due to my appalling typing skills. Well that's about it for this month...try and free up a couple of hours on Sat 9 th to help(post hole shovel and matic will help)..its not all digging though as the cable has to be run into conduit and fitted into the traphouses etc. Cheers Steve
