CALIFORNIA ORDER OF THE TIGER The Tiger s Roar V O L U M E 1, I S S U E 1 2 J A N U A R Y 2 0 1 1 Message from the Terrible Tiger. Breaking News. Our Nasty Tiger needs raffle prizes for the meeting in February. Bring them to the meeting or contact Judy Keating at nasty.tiger@cajayceeauxs.org. New Webmaster Needed Terry has decided to step down as our webmaster at the end of this year. So if someone else would be interested in becoming our new webmaster please email him at Terrible.Tiger30@cajayceeauxs.org Just a reminder to send me your photos of Tigers at work or at play. The deadlines for submitting photos or articles for the newsletter March 15 to tiger.paw@cajayceeauxs.org. Hello Tigers, Happy New Year Tigers. Our last general membership meeting in Santa Clara was soo much fun if you didn t attend, you missed out on one of the best meetings of the year. Our Sergeant at Arms, Cindy Barrett planned an awesome drink mixing contest that was great fun for everyone that attended. Thanks to Cindy for her wonderful imagination and enthusiasm. We also had a terrific raffle that was organized by your Nasty Tiger, Judy Keating, thanks Judy for a great raffle. I even won a prize. It was a pleasure to present the second quarter awards at our meeting in Santa Clara. Tiger of the Quarter award went to Jeanne Vanderhyde for her help at the Tiger meetings (by paying all those fines) and her help with the San Jose Jaycees Golf Tournament. Tiger Officer of the Quarter went to Tiger Paw, Ron Andrade for keeping me on track during our meetings and getting our great newsletter out on time every quarter. Keep up the great work. We need inductees into our Tiger Corp. There have to be some of the best of the best of the California Jaycees that we have overlooked. I challenge all of you to submit a worthy member. Please contact me or any Tiger Board member and we will send you the application or you can download it right now from our website. I want to thank all of you Tigers that attended the San Jose Jaycees Annual Golf Tournament, it was a great success due to all of your support. Please continue to support your local chapters. I hope everyone had a very happy holiday season with their families. Please come out and join us at the next meeting on February 11 th in Long Beach. Who knows what our Board will come up with next. Debbie Procedo Terrible Tiger #35 California Jaycees Order of the Tigers Terrible.Tiger35@cajayceeauxs.org

PAGE 2 Message from your Tired Tiger Please check out our sponsors business ads, and give them a call for your needs... tell them you're a CA Jaycee Tiger!! Wishing you all a Happy New Year! I had a great time over the Holiday Season and I hope you did too, but now it is time to buckle down and get back to work, hence, why I am writing a newsletter article for the ROAR!!! As your Tired Tiger, it is my responsibility to kick ass wherever it is needed and right now it is needed in the area of membership. We need to grow people otherwise our organization stagnates and we die. I don t know about you but I am pretty old now and dying is NOT what I would consider as an option. I need all of you to go to your local chapters and talk to them about anyone they would consider being ready for the Corps. You all know the requirements so let s just get out there and do it!! Yours in Tiger Pride, Brian Omatsu Extremely Tired Tiger TT #34 CAJCI #69025 Terrible.Tiger34@cajayceeauxs.org THE TIGER S ROAR

VOLUME 1, ISSUE 12 Tiger at Arms PAGE 3 Greetings and Salutations Tigers! We have made the turn and are headed down the back stretch, it seems unreal that this year is flying by so fast! I don t know if you made it to the Mixology Contest at our last meeting...7 ingredients and 5 minutes (alcohol and mixers) to come up with the best drink. It was a close competition but the votes were tallied and our barkeep of the night was chosen. If you think that sounded fun, wait until you find out what I have in mind for the next meeting. The only way to get in on the action is to attend so see everyone in next month! Cindy Barrett Tiger at Arms 2010-11 California Order of the Tigers tigeratarms@cajayceeauxs.org Nasty Tiger Judy Says. This quarter we had a good turn out and the new raffle was a huge hit. Tiger at Arts, Cindy Barrett, had a drink mixing contest and we were able to taste all the drinks and judge who had the best mixology skills. We did gift baskets and made some good money for Tiger College so if anyone needs training in their chapter please contact me or any Tiger in your area so we can set something up. Training is a good way to teach each chapter how to run a successful chapter and to run projects so LET S GET SOME TRAINING DONE and build a successful future for the Jaycees. Nasty Tiger Judy Keating nasty.tiger@cajayceeauxs.org Notes from the Scratching Post IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: THIS WILL BE THE FINAL ROAR TO BE MAILED OUT HARD COPY. Roar delivery for the remainder of the 10-11 year will be electronic only so if you are not currently receiving the Roar electronically or reading it at the Tiger web site then be sure to contact me with your email address. Please feel free to send photos or short announcements for future editions of the Roar. The deadlines for submitting photos or articles for the newsletter are March 15 to tiger.paw@cajayceeauxs.org. Ron Andrade, Tiger Paw tiger.paw@cajayceeauxs.org
