WATER RESISTANCE GENERAL WARNINGS This STRUMENTO MARINO watch is water resistant according to the instructions below and following the indications on the back of your watch. Always contact STRUMENTO MARINO for an inspection every 2 or 3 years and always replace the gaskets, glass o other parts. Do not turn the crown or press the buttons while the watch is wet. Otherwise the water could penetrate, damaging the most important internal components such as the movement. In case of penetration of water or persistent misting of the glass, it is recommended to have it inspected by your dealer or by STRUMENTO MARINO. Even the watch is characterized by a high level of waterproofing it is recommended to: - Rinse it well in fresh water and then dry it with a dry cloth after immersion in sea water; - Do not hit it with the flow of water from a tap; - We always suggest you to remove it from the wrist before taking a bath; - If water penetrates into the watch, place it in a box or plastic bag and immediately request an inspection. Otherwise the internal pressure may increase, implying the separation of some parts (crystal, crown, buttons, etc.). 6

Leave the crown in its normal position. If the watch has a screw crown, block the crown Misted-over glass. Could happen that a certain degree of humidity is inside the watch. If the temperature outside the watch is lower than the one inside it, the glass might become misted-over. If this condition persists the watch should be checked Do not expose the watch to high temperatures (more than 60 / 140 F) for a long time. At extremely high and low temperatures the watch may stop or stop working normally. It should therefore be avoided to use it in places where the temperature doesn t respect the specified range. The glass of the watch may have invisible scratches. Make sure the glass is checked every year of whenever you replace the battery Avoid contact with perfumes, petrol and solvents. Case-back rings, crown rings and button rings can get deteriorated by regular use. Make sure rings are checked every year or whenever you change the battery. If the space between the case and the crown gets filled with dirty, it becomes difficult to pull out the crown. In order to avoid this inconvenient, periodically turn the crown when it is in its normal position (or in the realising position if it is a screw crown). 7

If the watch (with a garantee certificate) presents permeability defects, a water proof test can be requested to one of our authorized service centers. If the watch resist to the level of deepness noted on the case-back the repair will be at the purchaser s charges, due to your negligence. Always keep the watch clean Periodically rotate the crown while it is completely pressed and press the buttons so that over time they will not be blocked due to the accumulation of foreign bodies. The watch case and strap will come into direct contact with the skin. Due to moisture or sweat, any corrosion of the metal parts and / or the accumulation of foreign bodies may result in the release of dark residue from the strap. Therefore it is recommended to always keep the watch clean. Periodically clean the bottom and remove any traces of accumulated dirt or foreign bodies. In rare circumstances they could cause skin irritation. In this case it is advisable to remove the watch from the wrist and consult a doctor. With a soft cloth, remove all traces of dirt and moisture from the glass and the case, especially the sweat. 8

WATER RESISTANT TO 3 ATM / 30 M / 100 FT The watch can be exposed to sports but cannot be subject to water pressure OK for washing your face OK for exposure to rain OK for accidental splashes WATER RESISTANT TO 5 ATM / 50 M / 165 FT The watch can be used for swimming and for working with limited water pressure and cannot be used for watersport, apnea, etc. OK for swimming OK for house-work OK for washing car WATER RESISTANT TO 10 ATM / 100 M / 330 FT The watch can be used for watersports but cannot be used for diving. WATER RESISTANT TO 20 ATM / 200 M / 660 FT The watch can be used for diving, but cannot be used for diving at a saturation deepnees until a maximum depth of 200 meters WATER RESISTANT TO 30 ATM / 300 M / 990 FT The watch can be used forall high impact water sports, scuba diving and saturation diving 9

WATER RESISTANT TO 100 ATM / 1000 M / 3300 FT This STRUMENTO MARINO watch can be used for saturation diving with helium gas. Some of STRUMENTO MARINO timepieces are an excellent example of diving watches, as they have the helium release valve supporting all professionals divers in the deep sea, even the most extreme. In fact, this helium valve has the task of letting out any helium particles that should enter the case. The valve for helium is a guarantee of quality: its presence is proof that we are in front of a professional diving watch branded STRUMENTO MARINO. Helium is a gas composed of very small molecules that, if pressurized, further reduce their size, thus being able to enter the watchcase through the crown, even though it has been tightly screwed. The risk is therefore that, during the dives, when the molecules of helium come out, they return to their original size and could damage the watch. To guarantee the safety of the STRUMENTO MARINO watches, due to the prolonged immersion or when the decompression stops during the ascent to the surface, there is this valve which creates a difference in pressure between the gases inside the watch case and his environment. This decompression, without the helium valve, can cause damage to the watch such as water infiltration (especially from the crown) or even glass breakage. 10

Strumento Marino watch bands The leather or silicone strap may deteriorate over time due to sweat. For the steel bracelet it is recommended to entrust the adjustment of the bracelet to an expert watchmaker. Being a natural material, leather can be worn, deformed and discolored over time. It is therefore advisable to replace the strap periodically. Because of the material with which the strap is made of, if it gets wet its durability is reduced (fading and /or the adhesive material becomes detached). Furthermore, when wet, the skin can cause inflammation. Do not stain the rubber strap with substances, including cosmetic products, containing volatile materials, bleaches or alcohol. It could indeed discolor and age prematurely. Even ultraviolet light, especially direct sunlight, may cause discoloration or deformation. Although waterproof, once wet, it is recommended to remove the watch from the wrist. Do not over tighten the strap. Instead, must be left enough space between it and the skin to keep it properly ventilated. The silicone strap may stain with the color or dirt of clothing or other accessories. As the removal of these stains may not be possible, it is recommended not to wear the watch with clothing or accessories that tend to easily transfer the color. The strap may deteriorate even in contact with solvents and air humidity. It is recommended to replace it when it loses elasticity or chaps. 11

It is recommended to request adjustment or repair of the strap in the following cases: a) when there are superficial anomalies, for example signs of evident deterioration b) when the buckle breaks. Also the metal strap, the synthetic polyurethane rubber strap and the case should always be kept free of dirt and foreign bodies, possibly removing them with a soft brush and neutral soap. If the purchased watch is not waterproof it is important to always keep the case dry. Sweat and dirt may discolour the leather strap. It is therefore recommended to always keep it clean by wiping it with a dry cloth. The metal, plastic or silicone band must be kept clean with a soft brush and soap. Then rinse it thoroughly to remove any residual traces of soap. More warnings - Strong shock Do not drop the watch or subject it to strong impacts. Failure to do so, may damage the case or strap, or it may stop to function properly and / or provide the intended performance. This kind of repairs are all considered by STRUMENTO MARINO out of warranty. Adhesive films Make sure you have removed any adhesive film if applied to the watch (case, strap, buckle, etc.). Otherwise the skin may peel and / or the metal parts could corrode due to the penetration of sweat or moisture into the interstices. 12

When the time standard by which you are setting your watch (telephone beep, etc.) reaches the 60th second, push the crown to the "first" position without turning. All normal hands will start moving instantly. The series OS20 differ from OS21 by the counter of 60 seconds at 6 hour. 40
