I m a cross sicher, needleworker, knier, and voracious reader. I make i a poin o sich every single day. When did you fall in love wih cross sich? Like a lo of sichers, my grandma augh me when I was very lile. I didn really click for me unil I was 13 and found a samped cross sich ki in a sore. A he ime my grandma was ill, and I fel ha by aking up somehing ha she had augh me I would be closer o her. To his day, when I cross sich, kni or do any craf, I can feel her beside me. Wha s your bigges siching disaser or bigges challenge? I had siched abou a hird of Dragon Dreams Sana s Dragon before I realized I hadn cenred he design properly. There was nowhere near enough fabric a he op! I was so hearbroken ha I ossed he whole hing in he garbage. I will sich i again, hough! Do you have a paricular piece you re mos proud of? I The Queen sich has been commonly used on samplers always makes me feel special when birds nes in since he sixeenh cenury our garden we have robins in he fron garden and a wren in one of our dry sone walls. We ve now reached Q for Queen sich in our A-Z of cross sich. One of my favourie ancien siches, my firs view of i was whils visiing he Burrell Collecion in Glasgow find ou more abou his wonderful exhibiion a www.glasgowlife.org.uk. I saw a sampler from he early eigheenh cenury here and was enhralled! This lovely sich, also known as rococo sich, is made in four pars forming lile dimples in he embroidery by pulling small holes in he fabric. This sich looks fairly unexciing on is own bu is gorgeous when grouped. As i is a labour-inensive sich, i is bes used in small areas and isn suiable for aida. How o do queen sich Follow he diagram and work he sich over a square of four hreads, in four sages. Work from lef o righ or vice versa remembering o pull firmly.
