KPBS Celebrates: The Sixties! A Gala in Honor of KPBS 50th Anniversary GALA SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES This year marks an important milestone in KPBS and San Diego history: the station s 50th anniversary. To celebrate the station s service to the San Diego community, a year long campaign is underway and will culminate with a special gala event. Inspired by the year of KPBS birth, the gala will feature a Sixties theme and will be held at The Lodge at Torrey Pines on Saturday, October 9, 2010. Alongside KPBS staff both past and present, more than 230 KPBS supporters and donors are anticipated in celebration of the station s accomplishments and future goals. Under the direction of Gala Chair Caroline Nierenberg, the event will be one to remember as guests delight in live music, a silent auction, seated dinner, and short video presentation recognizing the first inductees into the KPBS Hall of Fame.
