D-6 GIRLS & BOYS DISTRICT AND FIELD MEET BROKEN BOW HIGH SCHOOL (HOSTED BY ANSLEY-LITCHFIELD) May 9 th, 2018 Coaches: Enclosed is the information concerning the D-6 District Track Meet to be held at Broken Bow High School for schools assigned by the NSAA. Date: Wednesday, May 9th. - 9:00 - Scratch and add, 9:30 - Field Event Warm-ups, 10:00 - Field Events, 12:30 running events. Facilities: 400 Meter, all-weather track - long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault approaches are all-weather. Only 1/8 inch pyramid spikes may be used. The runways are marked, so please don t place tape on them (you may use chalk). If your team uses a tent, please set it up on the Southwest corner of the track facilities. Entries: Entries must be entered on-line via the NSAA web site by May 4th. Entry fee is $100.00 per boys team and $100.00 per girls team. This covers enrty fee plus the FAT track timing.fat Track is coming out of Hayes Kansas, Send checks to Ansley Public School or bring them with you to the meet. Instructions for District Entries and Roster (2018 Track Manuel). 1. Regulations: Entry regulations shall be the same as for regular season track and field meets. a. The NSAA District Track and Field Entry and the District Roster form are accessed and submitted on line. Go to the NSAA web site (www.nsaahome.org) and click on School Login. Enter your pass code, go to Select an Activity, and select Track & Field from the drop down menu. Select your school name next to Boys Track Entry Forms and Girls Track Entry forms. Also, please enter your athletes at this link: http://www.microsport.com/cgi-bin/tmo.cgi?form=user&x=42938:gj6z88b in order to set up the meet. b. An individual may be entered in only four EVENTS to include relays and all individual events. 2. Dates: The date for submitting entries to the NSAA is May 4 th, 2018 Coaches Meeting: Heat sheets will be available upon your arrival and coaches scratch/add meeting will be held at 9:00 in the garage/equipment room next to the restrooms, under the announcers stand. At the meeting, each event will be covered (field events included). With this NSAA rule: An individual shall be disqualified from further competition during the district or state meet if the athlete is scratched from an individual track or field event after the official scratch and add deadline. Any violation of the four event rule will disqualify all points scored by the athlete and will be reported to the NSAA.
Uniforms: Uniforms must be in compliance with official rules set forth in the NFHS Track and Field and Cross Country Rules Book in Rule 4, Section 3. Also refer to the Jewelry Rules page as part of the NSAA packet included. Qualifying: A) If more than one heat is required, no winner or second place in the heat shall be denied a chance to qualify for the next round of competition. B) When running three heats, the first and second place runners and the two fastest thirds shall qualify for the finals. C) If you have four heats the first and second will qualify. Field Events 1. You must report to all field events on time. Once competition is started, you will not be allowed any more run-throughs or practice attempts. If you miss a trial at a height you will not be allowed to make it up. However, you will be allowed your designated trials at the new height. 2. Any athlete wishing to use their own equipment can bring their own and it will be weighed and marked (This will be done by the Track Referee at the announcing stand storage shed). 3. We are going to try to have the field events finished by the time we start the running events. Running Events 1. Starting blocks will be provided and set in each lane. You must regulate the blocks in your lane and be ready to go. Provide your own block holder. 2. The 400 Dash, 300 Hurdles, and the 400 Relay will be run entirely in lanes with heats against time. 3. In the 800 Run, 1600 Run, 3200 Run and 3200 Relay, the runner will start from a staggered start for one curve and cut at the red cones after one curve as soon as they are one full stride ahead. 4. In the 1600 Relay, the start will be from the 3 curve stager, the first runner will stay in their land all the way. The second runner will run the same lane around the first curve and then cut after the red cones. All events will follow regulations set by the NSAA Track and Field Official Manual. In case of inclement weather, information concerning the meet will be given over the Broken Bow radio stations as well as KRVN and NTV.
