President s Message The course is looking great and we had a good financial month in March, and April also looks good. Green fees and new members are the key to balancing our revenue and expenses, so please keep bringing guests and potential members to our beautiful course. We are almost ¼ of the way to our goal of 40 in 04, and our course can handle many more rounds, so please help us fill the need for new members. We had some excellent events in April and I would like to thank Cimarron and his staff for the excellent organization and presentation of the Wine Tasting and Easter Buffet. If you missed them, please keep your eye on the calendar for future events. Easter was well attended with almost 300 people served, thank you for supporting your club! May is shaping up to be another great month, but a busy one. To reduce conflicts, please make sure you check your calendar. We have many events and specifically the Maumelle Classic April 30-May 2, the Mothers Day Buffet May 9 th, and the Maumelle Four Ball Memorial Day weekend, May 28, 29, 30. The Four Ball dates are an experiment to free up Memorial Day, May 31 st for members to have the opportunity to enjoy the course who are not signed up for the Four ball. There will also be some other outside events in May, so please check the calendar to ensure there are no conflicts. In closing I would like to thank all of the staff for their hard work in maintaining the Club and getting the course in such excellent shape for the prime golfing weather. Even with all the rain the course has been very playable except for #12 (unless you re a duck). Twelve has been under water many times before and we expect it to recover as usual. Thanks again for supporting your club. Your President, Royce LoBianco EAT & WIN with ROYCE Those members dining in the Mixed Grill during the month of May will receive a ticket each time they dine at the Club. We will draw three names on Monday, May 31 st to see whom the lucky members will be to play with Club President, Royce LoBianco in the John Daly Tournament free of charge! This is a value of $1500 per person. Don t miss the chance to play for free, come eat at the Club!!!

Manager s Message May is one of the busiest months for Maumelle Country Club and we have many golf & social activities on the schedule. Please read your calendar closely, so that you don t miss out on all the fun! The swimming pool will be opening on Saturday, May 29 th. The pool hours for this season will be from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Please adhere to the following rules: Bathing suits must be worn at all times, no cut-offs are allowed & no swimsuits are to be worn in the clubhouse. Children 8 & under must be accompanied by an adult 1232 or responsible teenager at all times. Guests of members must be signed in and accompanied by the member. Members are restricted to two guests per day and guest fees are $5.00 per guest. Pool parties are also a great way to celebrate that special occasion! If you would like to plan that party by the pool, contact Kellie Sadler at 851-1033. Mothers deserve a day off, so treat yours to a special day at Maumelle Country Club. Enjoy our Mother s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 9 th, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Chef Joseph and his staff will be preparing a delicious assortment of dishes. Seating is limited, so please make your reservations early. The Club will be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31 st. There will be a Poolside Party from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Festivities will include a Cookout, Live DJ, games and great drink specials to welcome the summer. ***Reminder The club will be closed on Tuesday, June 1 st *** There have been several complaints about non-members and members parking in the front circle during functions. Effective immediately, there will be no parking in the front circle. The circle may be used for handicap drop-off & pick-up of to go orders only. Handicap parking is available in the first row of the front parking lot. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter. There have been many questions regarding what members can and cannot do during the John Daly Celebrity Golf Classic, June 7 & 8 at Maumelle Country Club. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has requested the following during the event: Only participants, sponsors and volunteers may be associated with the celebrities and the tournament functions. The only golf carts that are allowed on the golf course the day of the tournament are the participants, volunteers, beverage carts and staff carts. Those members with private carts will not be allowed to roam the course during the event. Please adhere to these rules and we appreciate your cooperation! Those members dining in the Mixed Grill during the month of May will receive a ticket each time they dine at the Club. We will draw three names on Monday, May 31 st to see whom the lucky members will be to play with Club President, Royce LoBianco in the John Daly Tournament free of charge! This is a value of $1500 per person. Don t miss the chance to play for free, come eat at the Club!!! Special thanks to those who contributed to the Voluntary Renovation Fund. Over $30,000 dollars was donated and work is underway. The wall covering in the downstairs hallway has been removed and repaired and is ready for painting. The hallway, accounting office, stairway and pro shop will have new carpet. The Pro Shop will be renovated with a combination of millwork and paint and the pool will receive the rest of the new furniture, new paint, new flooring for the bathrooms and new screen for the covered area. These improvements will provide Maumelle Country Club with an updated look and will allow us to present a better product to our potential new members. Cimarron Grubb General Manager/Head Golf Professional

Out on the Course with Terry March and April arrived warm and wet, as we began the golf season a little earlier than normal. Much project work has occurred the first four months of the year but due to the amount of rainfall some projects have been re-scheduled. The fairway verticut/ aerification and collar/approach aerification has been rescheduled for May 3 rd due to rain. Stump grinding along the river has been moved to May as well. Thanks for your patience during the driving range project. The right side of the range was not irrigated and the result was dirt. The addition of sprinklers on that side will 2408 yield good turf as well as less dust caused by traffic along the gravel road. Having the range closed during the middle of the day was necessary for the completion of the irrigation addition. New golf course supplies will be making their way to the course shortly. New sand bottles, bunker rakes, broken tee caddies, ball washers, sand buckets, flags, cups, and pins have been purchased. I would like to thank the MGA for their help in purchasing these supplies. Let s have a great golf season. Our April Mixed Event was a success with seventeen 2373 couples playing. The team of Wanda Jett, Terry Spurlock, Barbara and Joe Spoon were the winners. The Barker/Leggett team took second and the Johnston/Etheridge team placed third. We end April and start May with the Maumelle Classic and we are looking forward to the Maumelle Mixed Invitational the first weekend in June, followed by the John Daly Make-a-Wish Celebrity Classic. Volunteer training will be held early in June. Sandy Carpenter President MGA for May Our May MGA Event will be a dual match. There will be a four man, two best balls (with handicap) and the President s Cup, which is the individual, low net score. After the round there will be drinks and hot dogs.
