It is a volunteer-led organization that reaches youth through a variety of programs in both rural and urban settings. 4-H provides fun, and educational opportunities at the local, state, national, and international levels. 4-H programs are hands-on, appropriate, and university-based. 4-H helps youth improve their self-confidence; learn subject matter, and develop important skills including leadership, citizenship, communication, and decision making that can be applied over a lifetime. For older teens, 4-H also offers opportunities to develop and test their leadership skills as 4-H volunteers and working with youth. For adults, 4-H offers opportunities in a variety of areas including youth development, instruction, and more. I pledge my HEAD to clearer thinking My HEART to greater loyalty, My HANDS to larger service, and My HEALTH to better living, For my club, my community, my country and my world. Thank you to all the volunteers. Thousands of volunteer hours goes into the 4-H program from the 4-H Club Leaders, 4-H Council, 4-H Fairboard, project superintendents and committee members. With the help of all these volunteers Blackford County has a quality 4-H program. Also, thank you to all the Booster Club Donors who support the Blackford County 4-H program. Because of your donations, we are able to offer awards and recognition to our 4-H ers, and we are able to keep the 4-H grounds operating and offer events and activities at the 4-H fair.
