KEA Fannie May Holiday Fundraiser The KEA Fannie May fundraiser provides scholarships for former Kirby 140 students attending Andrew high school and planning a career in education. Orders must be placed by Friday, Nov. 10 th to receive by Christmas. Prices are 10% off retail and orders are shipped to your home.
Family Reading Night Family Reading Night is Thursday, Nov. 16 th! Turn off the TV and read for 20 minutes to be entered into a raffle for one $5 Starbucks gift card per grade! More information and parent signature slips will be available next week!
Chorus Chorus rehearsals are Monday and Thursday after school until 4:05 pm in the Band Room.
Jazz Band Jazz Band rehearses at Prairie View every Wednesday after school from 4:00-5:15 pm.
Cheer/Dance Team Tryout forms for the Cheer/Dance team are available in the rack outside the Main Office. They are due back to Mrs. Griffin in Room 210 by Thursday, Nov. 30 th. Mandatory clinic is Tuesday, Dec. 5 th with tryouts Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 6 th and 7 th.
Respond Now Winter Clothing Drive Student Council is sponsoring a Winter Clothing Drive through Friday, Nov. 17 th. New and gently used coats, mittens, gloves, hats and scarves are being collected in the boxes outside of the Commons.
Internet Safety Please remind your parents to attend the Internet Safety presentation that will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28 th at 7:00 pm here at Grissom. Det. Bonerak from the Tinley Park Police Department will be the presenter. (This meeting is for parents only!)

Mathletes There will be a brief informational meeting for anyone interested in joining Mathletes this year. You may come to Mrs. LaPlant s room (#222) right after school on Monday, Nov. 13 th or on Tuesday morning, Nov. 14 th at 8:20 am. The meeting will be about 15 minutes long. Practices will begin after Thanksgiving.
6 th /7 th Grade Boys Volleyball The 6 th /7 th grade boys defeated Orland yesterday to improve to 7-1 overall! Outstanding play by Nathan LaPlant, Sean Monahan and Anthony Ceniti led the team to victory. The last home game of the season is next Thursday against Jerling. Game time is 4:00.

Intramurals Intramurals are held each week here at Grissom. Volleyball intramurals are held on Tuesdays, and Basketball intramurals are held on Thursdays. All intramurals are held from 7:45-8:25 am.
Student Support Before and after school Student Support is offered from 8:00-8:35 am each morning, and from 3:10-4:05 pm Monday through Thursday. You must arrive at the beginning of the session and stay for the whole time!
Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge Last year Grissom Patriots saved over 6,600 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills by using the water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Please remember to use these instead of plastic bottles. So far this year, we ve saved 3,446 bottles from landfills! Let s beat last year s total!
