PARENTS/GUARDIANS/ ACCOMPANYING ADULTS Team Tours Direct recommends the following guidelines are followed to ensure all participants safety during an event: Fluid replacement is important during any sport or recreation activity, particularly in hot environments. All children and young people should be well hydrated before participation begins with regular fluid intake. Under no circumstances should children be compelled to keep playing if they feel unwell. The use of appropriate and properly fitted equipment is essential to reduce the risk of injuries. e.g. Shin Pads, Mouth Shields etc. Although a thorough risk assessment will be carried out of the ground prior to any Team Tours Direct event, in the unlikely event that you come across any identifiable hazards, please inform a member of staff so he or she can remove it immediately. Please ensure that before attending a Team Tours Direct event that all coaches are aware of any appropriate medical history and how participation may adversely affect the participant. Training sessions are paramount to reduce the risk of injuries. To ensure tournaments are safe and enjoyable Team Tours Direct suggests they must be planned in advance, well structured, and contain the following components: - Warm up (cardiovascular increase of muscle temperature including dynamic stretching may increase performance, but may not prevent injury) - Skill practice (using drills, games and practices) - Activity (application of skills in game like situations) If an injury occurs the golden rule in managing it is do no further damage. Inadequate or inappropriate first aid may aggravate the injury and cause an increase in the time necessary before returning to participation. Therefore, Team Tours Direct would like to stress the importance of having a qualified first aider to deal with any injuries. Consequently, we request that you use the first aiders on site if any participants should become injured. Whilst serious head injuries are uncommon in children and young peoples sport, participants who have lost consciousness or who are suspected of being concussed must be removed from the activity immediately, taking no further part until cleared by the on site medical staff.
