Seniors Emmanuel Chibuogwu, William Powell and Brendan Westendorf will be honored prior to a 7 p.m. tip-off against Western Athletic Conference leader, CSU Bakersfield (18-7, 9-1 WAC). The game will be streamed live on the WAC Digital Network and can be heard live on KTTH 770 AM (mynorthwest.com). WHERE THEY STAND With four games remaining on the regular-season slate, Seattle U enters Saturday s match-up with CSUB with a 4-6 WAC record, which is good for fifth in the league standings. The Runners hold down first place (9-1), New Mexico State is second (8-2), Grand Canyon is third (7-3) and UMKC is fourth (6-4). Lots of movement can still happen before the WAC Tournament in March, which will feature seven of the league s eight teams (Grand Canyon is not eligible for postseason until 2017-18 due to their NCAA DI transition process). The first day of tournament action pits No. 4 vs. No. 5, No. 2 vs. No. 7 and No. 3 vs. No. 6. Tournament play begins March 9 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. THE LATEST A 15-game win streak in the Connolly Complex was snapped with a 61-58 setback to WAC foe Grand Canyon Thursday night. Seattle U led 24-9 early thanks to a big 16-0 run, but the teams would trade runs throughout and eventually GCU would hold on. Rebounding and second chance points hurt the Redhawks as the Lopes held a 48-28 edge on the LAST GAME S STARTING LINEUP POS. NO. NAME YR. HT. Moore added five triples on Feb. 9 at Chicago State and four more at UMKC on Feb. 11. He now has a team-high 66 threes and has 13 games this season with three or more triples. LAST TIME OUT The Redhawks suffered a 61-58 setback to WAC rival Grand Canyon Thursday night at the Connolly Complex In a roller coaster of a game that had similar feel to the season s first match-up between the two squads, the Redhawks (12-13, 4-6 WAC) took a big lead early. But the Lopes (18-9, 7-3 WAC) would chip away and once over the hump, never trailed, taking the season series. Zack Moore led Seattle U with 17 points and seven rebounds. Brendan Westendorf added 14 points, five assists and three steals while William Powell chipped in 13 points and six boards. Rebounding haunted the Redhawks as GCU held a 48-28 advantage, including grabbing 17 offensive boards for 21 second-chance points. The Lopes did most of their damage in the paint outscoring SU 38-16 in the area. Moore and Emmanuel Chibuogwu opened the game with back-to-back threes for a quick 6-0 SU lead. A Keonta Vernon dunk exactly four minutes into play gave GCU a 8-9 edge. But Seattle U would roll off a 16-0 run over three minutes, including four threes from Westendorf and Moore, to take a commanding 24-9 lead Aside from two Matej Kavas threes, the Redhawks would then go cold from the field for the remainder of the half. A 10-0 GCU run to close the half would give the visitor an 38-30 advantage at the break. A defensive battle in the second frame, the Lopes led by as many as 10, 56-49, with 13:39 to play. But Seattle U was not finished, manufacturing a 9-0 run over a 7:30 span. A pair of Powell free throws capped the stretch and brought the Redhawks to within one, 56-55. Trailing by three, with a minute to play, the Redhawks would have three possessions with a chance to tie. But they committed one turnover and went 0-for-2 from the field. RANKING THE REDHAWKS In games played through Feb. 16, Seattle U ranks 33rd nationally and leads the WAC in assists at 16.4 per game. The team also ranks first among league opponents in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.14), second in field goal percentage defense (40.4), third in three-pointers per game (8.92) and fourth in free-throw percentage (70.8). Among WAC players, Brendan Westendorf is first in free-throw percentage (85.5), fourth in minutes played (32.76 per game), second in steals per game (1.8), third in assists (3.84 per game) and eighth in scoring (15.0 ppg). Matej Kavas is second in three-point percentage (41.5) and Zack Moore is third in three-pointers per game (2.64). 2016-17 SEATTLE U MEN S BASKETBALL GAME NOTES 3

2016-17 GAME NOTES REDHAWK REPORT Zack Moore became the second player this season to surpass 30 points in a game with his 33-point output on Jan. 28 against UTRGV. The sophomore went 11-for-14 from the field, including draining eight triples. His eight threes ties the second most in program history for a single game. He joined Aaron Menzies in the 30+ point category for the season. Menzies poured in 35 on Nov. 21 versus Louisiana Monroe. The Redhawks went 6-3 during the month of December and closed out the non-conference slate with a 8-7 mark, earning their third winning record in non-conference play over the past five seasons. The Redhawks went 11-9 in 2014-15 and 8-6 in 2013-14. The Redhawks won four straight games from Dec. 10-19, including wins over Great Falls, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Mississippi Valley State and Southern Utah. The streak was halted by a 94-72 setback to Washington on Dec. 22. Seattle U s 82-67 win over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 15 was Head Coach Cameron Dollar s 100th at the helm of the Redhawk program. Aaron Menzies picked up his fourth double-double of the season in the UAPB (Dec. 12) win, finishing with 13 points and 11 boards. Aaron Menzies (18p, 16r) and William Powell (19p, 10r) each tallied a double-double in the Dec. 4 meeting with EWU, marking the second time this season that the duo collected double-digit points and rebounds in the same game. Freshman Morgan Means had a career-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in SU s win over Northwest University (Dec. 1). The Redhawks have faced a pair of teams receiving votes in the polls (at the time of the game) including Colorado (Nov. 14) a 67-55 loss and UCF (Nov. 26) a 67-51 setback. Aaron Menzies had a monster game in the 81-75 overtime win over ULM (Nov. 21), finishing with a career-high 35 points and 11 boards. The outing was the second double-double of the redshirt sophomore s career and just his third double-digit scoring effort. Menzies 35 points marked the highest scoring output by a Redhawk since Mar. 13, 2015 when Isiah Umipig poured in 30 points vs. Missouri-Kansas City. Brendan Westendorf was named to the 10th Annual Legends Classic Cheney Subregional All-Tournament Team after posting 14 points versus ULM and a careerhigh 24 against EWU. The career-high was his seventh career 20-plus point effort in one-plus seasons as a Redhawk. WESTENDORF NAMED WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Senior guard Brendan Westendorf was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1. This is his first WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and the second of his career. The Auburn, Wash., native averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game as the Redhawks went 1-1 in their final week of non-conference play. Westendorf opened the week with a team-high 17 points to go with five rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 72-65 setback to UC Davis on Dec. 28. He followed it up with a career outing in a thrilling come-from-behind victory at UC Santa Barbara to secure the team s first road win of the season. Westendorf poured in a career-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting, including six three-pointers, to lead Seattle U to the 80-76 win. He also added four rebounds, a game-high four steals and three assists. Westendorf drained three consecutive three-pointers to give his team its first lead since scoring the game s first bucket. He added a layup for a personal 11-0 run that was part of an improbable 31-7 run. Westendorf s jumper with 41 seconds remaining gave the Redhawks the lead for good. His 28 points marks his fourth 20-point game this season and the third time he has raised his career high this season. WAC PRESEASON POLLS After going 15-17 overall and 7-7 in WAC play (good for fourth place) last season, the Redhawks were selected fourth in the Preseason Media Poll and tied for fifth in the Coaches Poll. New Mexico State was selected as the League favorite in both polls, followed by Grand Canyon and CSU Bakersfield. PRESEASON HONORS Seniors Brendan Westendorf and William Powell earned 2016-17 Preseason All-Western Athletic Conference honors by both the league s eight head coaches and the media. The team leader in scoring with 12.8 ppg a year ago, Westendorf was selected to both the coaches and media Preseason All-WAC First Teams. The Auburn, Wash., native shot 40 percent from the field, nearly 42 percent from three and also led SU with 4.3 assists per game in 2015-16. Powell was named to the coaches and media Preseason All-WAC Second Teams after averaging 8.9 ppg and a team-high 6.8 rpg last year. EXTRA TIME Following their double-overtime setback to Eastern Washington on Dec. 4, the Redhawks have now played three overtime games this season, including a pair of double OT thrillers against the Eagles. The back-to-back overtime games against Louisiana Monroe (Nov. 21) and Eastern Washington (Nov. 22) were the first extra time games since an 80-75 win over UC Davis on Dec. 28. Previous to that, the Redhawks last went to overtime Jan. 31, 2015, a 71-61 loss at CSU Bakersfield. Seattle U last needed extra time at home on Feb. 27, 2014, an 84-77 triple overtime loss to Chicago State. Before the victory over the Aggies, Seattle U had lost four straight overtime games, last winning an overtime game Feb. 11, 2012, at Longwood, 100-99. They ve not had multiple overtime games in a single season since 2012-13 83-82 double overtime loss to New Mexico State (Jan 10, 2013) and 75-74 overtime loss to CSU Bakersfield (Mar. 6, 2013). BACK ON CAMPUS The Seattle University men s basketball team formerly called the Connolly Complex home before returning to KeyArena for the 2009-10 season. While KeyArena remains the Redhawks primary home court, the program brings six of 16 home games back on campus to the newly renovated North Court this winter. In 2014-15, the Redhawks returned to the Connolly Complex for one regular-season game, defeating Northwest University on Dec. 15, 2014, 84-58. With KeyArena unavailable during the postseason, Seattle U played both home CBI games in the Connolly Complex, defeating Pepperdine (62-45) and Colorado (72-65). Seattle U has now compiled a 211-142 (.598) record in the North Court, including a 15-game winning streak that began Nov. 5, 2008 with a perfect 10-0 mark during the 2008-09 season. Also included are three wins during 2014-15, a CBI win over Idaho last March and four straight this 2016-17 season. 2016-17 SEATTLE U MEN S BASKETBALL GAME NOTES 4

HEAD COACH CAMERON DOLLAR Cameron Dollar enters his eighth season as head coach at Seattle University in 2016-17. In just a short span of time, he has shown why many college basketball writers consider him one of the rising stars in the coaching industry. In the 2015-16 season, Dollar led the Redhawks to postseason play once again, advancing to the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational (CBI), which the Redhawks hosted in the newly renovated Connolly Complex. The Redhawks went 15-17 overall, and was marked by exciting plays on both defense and offense, including two buzzer-beater wins at KeyArena. Dollar led the Redhawks on a historic postseason run in 2014-15, first advancing to the finals of the Western Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament with victories over Chicago State and Missouri-Kansas City. The Redhawks were one win away from the program's 12th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time. After accepting a berth into the College Basketball Invitational (CBI), Dollar and his players notched Seattle U's first national postseason tournament victory since 1964 with a 62-45 victory over Pepperdine (WCC), followed by a 72-65 win over the Colorado Buffs (Pac-12) to reach the CBI semifinals. In the final 12 home games of the season, the Redhawks reeled off an 11-1 record. Dollar's team produced a stifling defense at KeyArena that held opponents to an average of 57 points all home-season long. On offense, the Redhawks outscored all opponents at home by a combined 125 points, with 116 made 3-pointers. In 2013-14, Dollar's Redhawks posted a five-game improvement from the previous season and contended with eventual WAC Tournament champion New Mexico State right down to the final buzzer in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. Thanks to a season sweep over Cal State Fullerton as well as victories over UC Davis, Cal State Northridge, and Norfolk State, Seattle U jumped out to an 8-3 record, led by Second Team All-WAC performer Isiah Umipig. Though Dollar led the team through a tough first season in the WAC during the 2012-2013 season, several key returning players showed improvement under his coaching. Redshirt freshman Deshaun Sunderhaus became a consistent post defender, and redshirt junior Clarence Trent led the team in scoring. Along with the yearly battle against Washington, Dollar's former team, the Redhawks also competed against non-conference schools such as Stanford and Virginia. Dollar took a squad of several newcomers through the 2011-12 season, competing with powerhouse programs such as Virginia and Washington. The team got rolling midway through the season, winning nine of its last 12 contests, including eight in a row at KeyArena. Thanks in part to Dollar's coaching, Aaron Broussard established himself as one of the best players in program history, finishing his career 13th on the school's all-time scoring list. Cervante Burrell improved significantly during his three seasons playing under Dollar, and Eric Wallace made an important contribution to the team's success after transferring in from DePaul for his senior season. Seattle U picked up 11 victories during the 2010-11 season, including the team's second straight victory over Oregon State and a road victory at ACC school Virginia. The Redhawks also played a tight game at Pac-10 school Stanford and put up its best performance against Washington since starting the reclassification process in front of over 11,000 fans at KeyArena. With Dollar at the helm, Seattle U was invited to participate in the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer, opening the season at the University of Maryland. The Redhawks were also chosen for the ESPN BracketBuster series of games, defeating Northern Illinois on the road. Using an up-tempo style with aggressive defense, Dollar led Seattle U to a 17-14 record in 2009-10, making the Redhawks the first team to post a winning record playing a full Division I schedule in its first year as a Division I counter. The team started to gain national recognition after a 77-74 victory at Utah, and then made history later in the year with a 99-48 win at Oregon State, the worst home loss ever for the Beavers. Dollar and his squad also defended Elgin Baylor Court at KeyArena during its first year of existence, finishing with a 10-3 record at home, including exciting victories over Fresno State, Weber State, and UC Irvine. Seattle U won eight of its last nine games, posting last-second road wins at Portland State and at San Jose State in the process. He served seven years as an assistant coach at the University of Washington before coming to Seattle U. As the top assistant for Lorenzo Romar at Washington, he helped the Huskies win their first Pac-10 outright regular season championship since 1953 in the 2008-09 season. Washington advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-10 Tournament and to the second round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. He played a major role in the spectacular 2005 and 2006 seasons that were among the finest in UW history. Dollar's contributions come both on the court, where he provides a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience, and on the recruiting trail. He helped recruit back-to-back classes that were ranked among the best in the nation. In 2006, Dollar helped guide Washington to a 26-7 record. The Huskies made back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances for the first time ever. He was pivotal in the Huskies' run to their first Pac- 10 Tournament championship in 2005 and first ever No. 1 seed into the NCAA Tournament. UW finished with a 29-6 record, tying the school record for wins in a season. In 2004, the Huskies advanced to the championship game of the Pac-10 Tournament and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1999. UW swept all three meetings with highly ranked Arizona and capped the regular season with a win over No. 1 and undefeated Stanford. Prior to his arrival at UW, Dollar served three years as an assistant coach on Romar's Saint Louis University staff. He helped the Billikens to a three-year record of 51-44 (.537), including a 2000 Conference USA Tournament championship that secured the league's automatic NCAA berth. Dollar began his coaching career as an assistant on the staff of head coach Pat Douglass at UC Irvine in 1997. He became the nation's youngest head coach in 1998 when, at age 22, he took the reins of the Southern California College program in Costa Mesa, Calif. The Vanguards, who returned just six players from the previous season, posted an 11-22 record in Dollar's only season, but recorded wins over NAIA Top 25 teams Westmont and Azusa Pacific. After a three-month stay as a part-time assistant at the University of Georgia in 1999, Dollar left to join the Saint Louis coaching staff on a full-time basis. As a player, Dollar lettered four seasons at UCLA before graduating in 1997. He has chosen to remain in Seattle, the site of the Bruins' 1995 NCAA Championship victory. UCLA defeated Arkansas 89-78 at the Kingdome. A four-year letterman at UCLA from 1994-97, Dollar achieved national recognition in 1995 as a pivotal player in UCLA's NCAA championship season when he took over for injured starter Tyus Edney in the title game. In Dollar's final three collegiate seasons, the Bruins won the NCAA title and reached the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Dollar averaged 5.0 points and 3.7 assists per game during his four-year career. He was recruited to UCLA by then-bruins assistant Lorenzo Romar and was reunited with his coach in 1999 when Romar added Dollar to his staff at Saint Louis University. Dollar is a native of Atlanta, where his father, Don, was the long-time coach at Clarkston High School. Cameron and his wife, Maureen, live in Seattle. They have three children: Jalen (born April 26, 2005), Giselle (born Feb. 12, 2007), and Jason (born Dec. 23, 2008). 2016-17 SEATTLE U MEN S BASKETBALL GAME NOTES 5
