Westbound lanes will be closed briefly starting at about 8 p.m. Sunday, November 13th, and eastbound lanes will be closed briefly at about 8 p.m. Monday, November 14th. Message boards will be placed alerting drivers prior to the closings. The signal is expected to begin operating at the end of the month. For further questions, contact Lee County DOT at 239-533-8580. Veterans Day November 11 th - Midpoint Bridge: The Midpoint Madness Veterans Day 5K will close the Midpoint Bridge from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, November 11 th. Motorists are encouraged to use the Cape Coral Bridge or the U.S. 41 and Business 41 bridges as alternate routes. Lee County Department of Transportation will put message boards out to alert and remind motorists. Traffic Signal Work Lee Boulevard & Gunnery and Lee Boulevard & Bella Court Lee County DOT will be working on the traffic signal beginning at 9 a.m. on November 16 th, at Lee Boulevard and Gunnery Road. After completion of this work, DOT will then perform traffic signal work at Lee Boulevard and Bella Court. Motorists should use caution at both locations as the traffic signal will be dark. Road Maintenance This Week: Lee County DOT will be performing intersection work on Veterans Parkway at the Midpoint Toll Plaza with intermittent lane closures and possible traffic delays (weather permitting) on Thursday, November 17 th, from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Striping Maintenance: Lee County DOT will be performing a moving operation with traffic delays on 11-10-16 through 11-16-16 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) on: Brantley Road Broadway Avenue Crystal Drive Danley Drive Del Prado Boulevard N. Learning Court Mellow Drive Park Meadows Drive Plantation Road South Airport Road South Pointe Boulevard South Road Intersection Work: Intermittent lane closures and delays are possible on 11-10-16 through 11-16-16 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) on the following roadways: Daniels Parkway @ Treeline Avenue Veterans Parkway For questions relating to the above road maintenance projects, contact Randy Hart at 239-533-9500.

1. Road Work/Maintenance/Improvements: Boca Grande Roadwork: Ajax Paving Industries of Florida will begin working on the Boca Grande roadways October 10th. The work will consist of road widening, widening multi-purpose path, and resurfacing local streets. Motorists and pedestrians should use caution when traveling in the work zone area. Burnt Store Road from Diplomat Parkway to Van Buren Parkway: Construction Project: This project consists of the initial widening of Burnt Store Road to four lanes (ultimately the future design is for six lanes with a two-lane frontage road). The project also includes installation of conduits under the road for the City of Cape Coral. The speed limit is reduced to 45 miles per hour. Motorists should use caution as construction vehicles enter and exit the roadway. Diplomat Parkway at the intersection of Burnt Store Road: Motorists should expect the eastbound travel lanes to close temporarily on Wednesday, July 6 for approximately four weeks, weather permitting, as part of the roadway design for Lee County Department of Transportation s Burnt Store Road Widening Project. Eastbound Diplomat Parkway traffic (from Burnt Store Road to NW 30 TH Place) will shift to the north and share the westbound travel lanes. Motorists should follow detour signs and use extreme caution while driving in this area. NW 12 th Terrace at the intersection of Burnt Store Road: This intersection will close temporarily as part of the roadway design for Lee County Department of Transportation s Burnt Store Road Widening Project. This road closure will remain in effect for the duration of the project. Motorists should access NW 31 st Place via NW 9 TH Terrace. Local area residents will have access at all times during construction. NW 14 th Terrace at the intersection of Burnt Store Road: This intersection will CLOSE PERMANENTLY as part of the roadway design for Lee County Department of Transportation s Burnt Store Road Widening Project. Motorists should access NW 14 th Terrace via NW 16 th Street. Local area residents will have access at all times during construction.

NW 17 th Lane at the intersection of Burnt Store Road: This intersection will CLOSE PERMANENTLY as part of the roadway design for Lee County Department of Transportation s Burnt Store Road Widening Project. Motorists should now use NW 16 th Street to access the neighborhood. Local area residents will have access at all times during construction. NW 19 th Terrace from Burnt Store Road to NW 31 st Place will CLOSE PERMANENTLY as part of the roadway design for Lee County Department of Transportation s Burnt Store Road Widening Project. Motorists should now use NW 18 th Terrace to access the neighborhood. Local area residents will have access at all times during construction. This north segment from Diplomat Parkway to Van Buren Parkway costs $15.3 million and the City of Cape Coral s utility conduits are $550,000. The contractor is Quality Enterprises, USA, Inc. Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization s Complete Streets Initiative RoadWatch updates for November 10 th : Daniels Parkway Shared Use Path: An 8-foot shared use path is being constructed along Daniels Parkway between Six Mile Cypress Parkway and Jetport Commerce Parkway and between Treeline Avenue and Fenway South Drive. Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Boulevard between Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and North/South FGCU Boulevard: Sidewalk/shared-use path construction: The sidewalk is being replaced with a 10-foot shared use path on the north side of FGCU Boulevard between Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and North FGCU Boulevard. Additionally, a new sidewalk is being constructed on the south side of FGCU Boulevard between FGCU South Court and South FGCU Boulevard. This sidewalk will lead to the welcome center. Lee County RWA For week of November 14, 2016 Estero Boulevard Construction refresh Estero Boulevard/Waterlines Crescent Street to Madera Road Contractors for Fort Myers Beach and Lee County are installing new water main, and sanitary sewer force main, storm drainage, sidewalk and rebuilding roadway on Estero Boulevard from Crescent Street to Madera Road. Motorists may experience daytime and nighttime intermittent one-lane traffic on Estero Boulevard. Flaggers will alternate traffic frequently, but motorists should expect delays. Crews are expected to work Monday through Friday and most Saturdays. Segment 1 - Crescent Street to Lovers Lane: Motorists should expect travel lanes to be shifted on Estero Boulevard from Miramar Street south to Lovers Lane. Two travel lanes will remain open the majority of the time; however, intermittent lane closures may be necessary. Miramar Street to Lovers Lane Palm Avenue to Chapel Street Center lane is closed while crews install center lane drainage system. Chapel Street to Lovers Lane Southbound lane is closed while utility crews complete transfers and crews grade and pave the temporary shoulders. Segment 2 - Lovers Lane to Madera Road: Estero Boulevard south of Lovers Lane and north of Donora Boulevard Southbound Estero Boulevard traffic will be shifted while crews directional drill from south of Lovers Lane to north of Donora Boulevard. From Voorhis Street to Hercules Drive Northbound traffic is shifted to the center lane while: Connecticut Street to the south - Crews clear northbound right-of-way. Voorhis Street to Connecticut Street Crews install sanitary sewer force main. Gulfview Avenue to Madera Road - Crews are scheduled to install water main on the beach side of Estero Boulevard. Fiddlesticks Boulevard Bike Path: Lee County DOT will be constructing a bike path along Fiddlesticks Blvd. Work will begin Thursday, August 18, 2016; the project is expected to be completed February, 2017. Six Mile Cypress Metro Parkway: Contractors for the Developer of The Lakes at Metro will construct a right turn lane beginning October 12th, 2016 on Six Mile Cypress Parkway and Metro Parkway. A lane closure will occur in the outside eastbound lane on Six Mile Cypress just before Metro Parkway to Plantation Road from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. weekdays only. US 41 Transmission Mains: Lee County Utilities Old Gladiolus Drive to Sunrise Boulevard: Contractors for Lee County Utilities are installing new water main and sewer force main on the east side of US 41 from south of Old Gladiolus Drive north to Sunrise Boulevard. Crews are working along US 41 and Daniels Parkway just east of US 41. Work typically occurs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crews are working near the roadway. Some driveways will be temporarily closed but businesses and residences will have access throughout the project. Some sidewalks may be closed on the east side of US 41. Some bus stops may be closed and relocated. This schedule may be subject to change due to inclement weather and unforeseen underground conditions. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution. Bridge Maintenance: Daniels Parkway Bridge # 124050: Lee County DOT will be performing bridge maintenance on Bridge # 124050 just east of Six Mile Cypress on Daniels Parkway. This night work is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. on November 17 th, 2016 and should be completed by 5 a.m. There will be single lane closures from 9:00 p.m. to 5 a.m. in the west bound lanes of Daniels Parkway.

North River Rd. Bridge # 124040, - Lee County DOT will be performing bridge maintenance on North River Rd. at Bridge # 124040 west of the Lee County line. The work is scheduled to start October 31 st, and finish by November 10 th, 2016 weather permitting. There will be single lane closures in the east and west bound lanes, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For further questions regarding the above maintenance projects, contact Doug Busbee at 239-533-9400.
