All Summer Long when questioned in relation to his ride from the 700m, M Bell explained that his mount had experienced a good during the early stages and was travelling very strongly approaching the 700m. he said because of this he intended to maintain cover for as long as possible to prevent the gelding being exposed too far from the finish, however when After All That improved very quickly on his outside inside the 700m he attempted to maneuver that runner wider to continue to race with cover, which his mount resented and became unbalanced. He said that on straightening he positioned All Summer Long to the outside of the heels of After All That to improve, but was hampered when that runner shifted wider marginally for some distance and he was too far to its outside to attempt to obtain a run which became apparent inside After All That. Further he said that he was forced to ease his mount near the 200m, when racing tight between After All That and Ever So Natural, but having obtained clear running soon after, All Summer Long did not respond strongly and was in his opinion slightly disappointing.
