VII. VIII. Hot Spurs Development Center - presentation by Tommo Overton from Hotspurs. o Tommo Overton, the head of Hotspurs, came to the meeting to discuss with MSC the possibility of establishing a Development Center with MSC here in Monroeville. o Monroeville would be the host site but the Development Center is open to players from around the area. o He discussed the Hotspurs philosophy for their program, he then explained his idea behind the training center and the goals they hope to reach with it. o They are asking for one field space, once a week for 75-90 minutes, and the ability to send out an email to our members regarding the Development Center. They are looking to establish the center for at least a year. o They would like access to our database of players. o Price would be about $150 for an 8-week session o Would offer a 10% discount to Monroeville players. Was not able to offer further commitment to additional support back to MSC at this time but could be open to future discussion. o In summation of the presentation, Hotspurs are a capped team program that believes in the municipal clubs and wants players to stay in their home clubs and keep playing. They still look for top kids to make up their teams, but with a cap rostered they don't needlessly take kids from the clubs to make money on them. That is where they want the Development Centers to step in, provide coaching to a large amount of kids and assist them in making best teams possible. They currently have two other training centers established in Freeport and Twin Boros. You can read more at the following link http://www.hotspurssoccer.com/development-centers/ o Additional materials were provided and are embedded in the electronic copy of the minutes. o Discussion and vote ensured via email after the meeting but before the next meeting. See further notes below. Adjournment Motion by Karstetter to adjourn, Second by Lambert, MC. In Between Meeting Emails There was an email discussion on the Hotspurs Development Center. Numerous questions and discussion. o HotSpurs are looking to run this clinic on Sunday nights 6:30 to 8:00 for the spring time. They are only looking for a trial run for this spring of 5 to 6 sessions, with them starting somewhere after mid-way through April. With regards to fields, they said they are indifferent to what field and looking at what we have available, all of them seem to be open.

o A vote would be on giving them the chance at the trial run for the spring, and for us to understand better what kind of alignment/partnership we as a club want. The one-year commitment is something we can investigate further and let them know for the next soccer year (Aug 2018-19), once we know ourselves what we want. o A motion was made by Lambert to approve a trial run of the Regional Development Center with Hotspurs. The motion was seconded by Karstetter. The motion carried. There are several open questions that will be discussed at the April meeting. A Spring Coaches Meeting was held on Tuesday 3/13/18 at 6:30PM at Papa Rocks. Many of the club coaches attended and topics important to the kick off of the spring season were discussed. Bernie Stiles the coach of the Gateway High School boys soccer team offered to have a training session for coaches of about 2-4 hours. Kyper coordinated this with Coach Stiles for 4/7/18 from 1 5PM. It will be held in the Gateway High School auxiliary gym due to the field conditions from the weather not being ideal for use of the fields. Information was distributed to the coaches and posted on the website. IX. Next Meeting Wednesday April 4, 2018 at Papa Rocks. (see attachments on additional pages)

2018 Agenda Registration increase all ages: U6 is a priority to get those numbers up anyway possible as they are the future of the club and soccer in Monroeville as a whole. At the same time we cannot lose focus on the players we currently have and need to maintain them in the program all the way up until they go to cup or high school. Even kids in high school, look into putting together U18 and U16 team of the jv and varsity kids for spring time. Revenue Increase: We need to maximize all possible revenue streams that are at our disposal. We need to increase registration to increase revenue but also look into new opportunities. Sponsorship of fields, concession stand, travel teams, equipment. Concession stand sales and spirit wear sales, to bring in more money for the club as well as create a stronger community of the soccer families. 3 vs 3, inhouse tourney, indoor tourney, 4 vs 4, etc. possible tournament ideas for the community and the club. Field and Equipment Improvements: With the new revenue increases that is being proposed, we need to take that and put that revenue back into our fields, equipment and players. With new field sizes being put upon the club it is an opportune time to reevaluate the club s fields and field commitments and how they are all set up. Look into sharing the fields with the community as a whole where certain soccer only fields are designated and other fields are left open to the community at large. In the end, regardless of age we are all soccer players and should look out for each other because one good turn deserves another. Purchase new goals in a slow rollout process over our most used and crucial fields. Procedures and Policies Updates: We all need to evaluate the club policies and procedures and perform any updates that are needed in them. As of now, we may have outdated and loop hole procedures and policies in place that would or could lead us into legal if not impractical situations one of which the club may never recover. We need to update these to make sure the board, as well as the club are protected from such possibility. Increase Volunteerism within the Club: Steps have been taken to create a list of all the possible jobs one could do as part of. Club is going to take steps to bring in more volunteers through face to face meetings with parents, communications, recruiting meetings, etc. The goal is to increase volunteerism by not having to institute mandatory volunteerism onto the constituency.
