BALTIMORE ORIOLES GAME NOTES ORIOLE PARK AT CAMDEN YARDS 333 WEST CAMDEN STREET BALTIMORE, MD 21201 TUESDAY, APRIL 3, 2018 GAME #5 ROAD GAME #2 BALTIMORE ORIOLES (1-3) at HOUSTON ASTROS (4-1) RHP Mike Wright, Jr. (0-0, 5.76 in 2017) vs. RHP Justin Verlander (1-0, 0.00) ROSTER MOVES: On Monday, the Orioles made several roster moves...the Orioles acquired LHP Luis Ysla (ees-lah) from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for RHP Jesus Liranzo...Ysla will be assigned to Double-A Bowie...The O s traded RHP Stefan Crichton to the Arizona Diamondbacks for a player to be named later or cash considerations...the Orioles also signed OF Michael Saunders to a minor league contract...saunders will report to Triple-A Norfolk...In 23 career games at Oriole Park, Saunders has hit.310/.379/.750 (26-for-84) with 10 home runs and 25 RBI...Saunders leads all active players with a 1.129 OPS at Oriole Park (min. 20 games played). WELCOME TO THE SHOW: LHP Nestor Cortes, Jr. and RHP Pedro Araujo each made their Major League debuts on Saturday night vs. Minnesota...Cortes took the mound in the sixth inning and tossed 2.0 innings, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts...he fanned Byron Buxton in the sixth inning for his fi rst career strikeout...araujo entered in the eighth inning and tossed 1.0 scoreless inning with one strikeout...he also struck out Buxton for his fi rst career strikeout. IT S A WALK-OFF: Adam Jones hit a walk-off home run in the 11 th inning in Thursday s season opener...last year, Mark Trumbo also hit an 11 th -inning walk-off homer in the Orioles season opener...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Orioles are the fi rst team in Major League history to hit an Opening Day walk-off home run in consecutive seasons...the Orioles also won in walk-off fashion on Opening Day in 2016 when Matt Wieters hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning on April 4, 2016 vs. Minnesota. DYLAN WAS DEALIN : RHP Dylan Bundy made his fi rst career Opening Day start on Thursday and tossed 7.0 scoreless innings on fi ve hits with one walk and seven strikeouts...the outing was Bundy s third career start in which he worked at least 7.0 innings and did not allow a run...his 7.0 innings marked the longest start by an Orioles pitcher on Opening Day since RHP Jake Arrieta worked 7.0 shutout innings on April 6, 2012 at Oriole Park. VS. HOUSTON: The Orioles and Astros play the second game of seven matchups between the two clubs this season...the Astros lead the season series, 1-0...The Astros won the 2017 season series, 5-1...The Astros will visit Baltimore, September 27-30...Houston leads the all-time series, 24-19...The Orioles have gone 14-8 all-time against the Astros at Camden Yards and 5-16 at Houston...The Orioles last won at Minute Maid Park on June 4, 2015 and are 0-7 at Houston since the victory.
