BALTIMORE ORIOLES GAME NOTES ORIOLE PARK AT CAMDEN YARDS 333 WEST CAMDEN STREET BALTIMORE, MD 21201 TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2018 GAME #113 ROAD GAME #58 BALTIMORE ORIOLES (34-78) at TAMPA BAY RAYS (56-56) RHP Alex Cobb (3-14, 5.83) vs. RHP Tyler Glasnow (1-2, 4.27) HARD WORKING RELIEF: The Orioles bullpen combined to toss 7.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit with 12 strikeouts in Sunday s game at Texas...It was the 13 th time in Orioles history (since 1954) in which the bullpen tossed at least 7.0 innings while allowing one-orfewer hits...it was the first time this had happened since June 7, 2009 at OAK when the bullpen also tossed 7.1 one-hit innings...the 12 strikeouts were the most in a game by the bullpen this season, and the most since they also struck out 12 on July 6, 2016 at LAD in 9.0 innings of relief...lhp Tanner Scott earned his second career win (both coming against TEX), while tossing a career-high 2.1 innings and matching his career-high with four strikeouts. SCORING CHANGE: Major League Baseball has made a scoring change to the game on August 3 at Texas...In the bottom of the first inning, SS Elvis Andrus reached base and 2B Rougned Odor scored on what was originally scored as two errors by RHP David Hess... This has been changed to an infield single for Andrus and a throwing error by Hess, allowing Odor to score...the run remains unearned. GCL ATHLETIC TRAINER OF THE YEAR: Orioles GCL Athletic Trainer Adam Sparks, ATC has been selected by his peers as the Gulf Coast Athletic Trainer of the Year...The award is presented by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainer s Association...Sparks, 27, is in his second season with the Orioles organization and the GCL Orioles. HITTING IT OFF: The Orioles rank among the top in the AL in several major offensive categories since the All-Star break, leading the league in hitting.300 (160-for-533) and slugging percentage (.499)...They have recorded 160 hits in 15 games since the All-Star break, the second-most in the American League (TEX - 167 in 17 games), and their 93 runs scored also rank as the second-most (TEX - 111)...The O s have hit 26 home runs since the break, tied for the second-most in the AL.
