January 23 rd, 2019 Hello Skating Parents! We are so happy that your skater is participating in the 2019 Ice Show Under The Sea. We re looking forward to a great show this year! Your registration fee for the ice show through the Chaska Community Center includes group practices, choreography by the Chaska Figure Skating Club (CFSC) coaches, dress rehearsal and two shows. The Community Center determines the ice time for these practices, and our instructors do their best to space out the practice times, but there will be times when groups will share the ice. This has been done in the past, and it works out well. The groups are currently being finalized, and a complete practice schedule will be sent out by February 3 rd. There is an additional costume fee. The cost for skate school skaters will be between $55-$65. Everyone in the show must be registered through the Chaska Community Center. Skate school groups will be in one number plus the grand finale. Club skaters that have registered through the CFSC for Club Revue, Adult, and Daddy/Daughter numbers will participate in those additional programs accordingly. Choreography is done by CFSC coaching staff and overseen by Ice Show Director, Kristie Mitchell. Solos and small groups are selected based on criteria established by CFSC. CFSC, along with the skate school director, determine the theme of the show. CFSC organizes ticket sales, puts together a magazine quality show program, records the performances and sells a show DVD. T-shirts and professional pictures may be purchased as well, the CFSC will send out order forms prior to the show. Also coordinated by the CFSC is merchandise sales at the show (flowers, skating related gifts, concessions), lobby/rink decorations based on the theme of the show, and a free cast party after the final performance for all skaters in the show. As you can imagine, it takes a lot of helping hands to do all this. CFSC families are expected to help with the show, and we encourage everyone, including skate school parents, to volunteer to make this event the best it can be. It s fun for the kids to have their families involved, and we guarantee you ll have a great time! We ve put this document together to help answer common questions and provide additional information on everything show related. Please review and feel free to ask any questions at any time by sending an email to chaskafigureskatingclub@gmail.com. Thank you, and we hope you and your skater enjoy Chaska s Under The Sea!!

Similar to last year, you will need to complete a photo order form for each group picture/pose of your skater you want to order. For example, if you want to order a club photo, small group photo, buddy photo and individual photo of your skater, you will need to complete 4 order forms. One for each group or individual photo your skater will be in. Forms need to be completed and handed in on picture day with each picture that is taken. You only need to write one check even if you are submitting multiple order forms. In order to ensure we run on-time, please be sure to bring your completed order form(s) to your skaters picture time. We are running a tight schedule this year to ensure skaters do not miss any of their practices. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold-up group or individual photos for families who are running late or do not have their forms completed. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. They will also be available for sale at the shows for friends, grandparents, etc. to display a few words of encouragement for the skaters. Dress Rehearsal Please make every effort to arrive to the rink 30-45-minutes prior to the start of dress rehearsal. There will be a skater check-in table in the lobby of rink 1. Please check your skater in prior to heading back to the locker room. Dads in the Daddy Daughter routine should also be at dress rehearsal! Our hope/goal is that the skaters will be able to watch a portion of the show on dress rehearsal night. They will need hard skate guards to walk up into the bleachers. They should also have a blanket, jacket, hat and gloves to stay warm while watching. They will need to stay in a group with the locker room parent(s) when in the stands. Shows Skaters should be at the rink, in costume, 30-45 minutes before each show. They should check-in at the skater check-in station in rink 1. They will have an assigned locker room for each show. The skaters stay in the locker room along with the locker room parent volunteer(s) during the show. No food or beverage (other than water) in the locker rooms. They can bring games, activities, electronics, etc. to keep them occupied during the show. They should also have a blanket, jacket, hat and gloves to stay warm in the locker rooms, as they tend to be a little chilly. Cast Party Sign-up The cast party is FREE for all skaters in the ice show. It will be on Sunday, March 3 rd following the 2pm show. Please RSVP by Saturday, Feb. 16 th. This is a fun final show event for the skaters. The soloists and small group performers will be available to sign autographs, and there will be activities to keep the skaters entertained. Popcorn, pizza, cake and beverages
will be provided. RSVP will be sent out in the 2/3 communication. Skaters should dress comfortably and are encouraged to bring a cozy blanket and pillow.
