BANNER CONTEST + TEAM COMMERCIAL + TEAM SHIRT DESIGN Event Date: Friday, September 15 Event Time: 5:00 PM Event Location: YMCA Event Description: This event will be judged on 3 areas for one total score. Banners, commercials and t-shirt designs will be judged based on originality, overall design/presentation, and how it best represents your company. Team with combined highest score will determine points for their team. Part 1 = Banner Contest: Event Time: 5:00 PM Participants will have one hour to decorate banner (6ft x 36in) that will be used as the backdrop for the Team Commercial. Participants must bring their own art supplies with the YMCA providing the banner. Banners cannot be pre-assembled prior to the event. TRACK EVENTS Event Date: Saturday, September 16 (Page 1 of 2) Event Time: 10:00 AM Event Location: South Asheboro Middle School Track (SAMS) **Track Event Participants may only compete in a maximum of 2 Track Events** ONE-MILE PREDICT WALK Event Description: Participants will predict before race of estimated time they will finish one (1) mile of walking. No watches, cell phones or timing devices will be used by participant. Spectators will not be able to call out to participants. Teams will have predictions totaled together. Team with closet totaled predictions will determine points for their team. Participant Requirements: 2 participants (1 male + 1 female); Male/Female Divisions 100-YARD DASH Event Description: Participants will race against other teams in their respective gender. Participant Requirements: 2 participants (1 male + 1 female); Male/Female Divisions 100-YARD THREE-LEGGED RACE Event Description: One leg from each participant will be tied together to form a co-ed couple team to race against other teams. Participants will pass a baton to a member of their team when they have completed their ¼ mile until the mile has been completed by all four (4) participants. Teams crossing finish line will determine points for their team. SWIMMING EVENTS Event Date: Saturday, September 16 Event Time: 10:30 AM Event Location: Randolph-Asheboro YMCA *Pool Closed August 26-September 4* Annual Pool Maintenance & Improvements 25-METER FREESTYLE Event Description: One length of the pool, starting from the diving blocks. Finish of participant will determine points. Participant Requirements: 2 participants (1 male + 1 female); Male/Female Divisions **25-Meter Freestyle participants may not participate in the 50-Meter Freestyle Event** 50-METER FREESTYLE Event Description: Two lengths of the pool, starting from the diving blocks and ending at the diving block end. Finish of participant will determine points. Participant Requirements: 2 participants (1 male + 1 female); Male/Female Divisions **50-Meter Freestyle participants may not participate in the 25-Meter Freestyle Event** 100-METER WACKY RACE Event Description: Four lengths of the pool, starting from the diving blocks and ending at the diving blocks. Race will consist of each member of the relay putting on various swim apparel and completing one length of the pool. Once a swimmer has reached the end, they will remove the apparel and the next swimmer will put on the apparel. Finish of team will determine points. (According to USAPA) One of the fastest growing sports in America! A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. The Basics: A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Played both indoors and outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.
