The 8th edition of the Games will host a wide range of sports in the state-of-the-art facilities across Sharjah, the third largest city of the Emirates. We look forward to welcoming your teams to Sharjah and to another successful Games. This is a preliminary sport programme and the LOC/IWAS reserves the right to remove any sports that are not viable due to a low number of entries and where combined events are not possible. Age Groups Youth, Open and Masters categories will be offered and split by age groups dictated by each sports International Federation rules and regulations. Athletes must be aged at least 14 years of age to compete unless formally agreed prior to entry Registration Fee Inclusive Day Rate 200 per person (all members of the team) 100 per person, per night (single occupancy supplement of 50 per night applies). Includes accommodation with full board catering, arrival and departure transport from Dubai and Sharjah airports, Games time shuttle and Opening & Closing Ceremonies.

ACCOMMODATION Holiday International Sharjah The Hotel Holiday International is a 4-star hotel, located next to the Khalid Lagoon and Al Majaz Water Front. Only 20 minutes drive from both Dubai and Sharjah International Airports, the hotel also boasts a fully equipped gym, temperature controlled outdoor pool and floodlit tennis courts. Due to the closest proximity to the Aldhaid Sports Club, the Aryana and Centro hotels are available for those competing in shooting from 8 th February. The Act Hotel Sharjah The 5-star Act Hotel is located in the heart of Sharjah, situated across the Khalid Lagoon area, The hotel boasts modem facilities including free high speed internet connectivity, a fitness centre with fully equipped gym and indoor pool. The hotel boasts a spa and wellness centre, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre as well as complimentary wifi throughout. Copthorne Hotel Sharjah The 4-star Copthorne Hotel is a modern hotel overlooking the of the Khalid Lagoon. Situated just five minutes from the bus station, the hotel also offers on-site spa and gym facilities as well as an outdoor pool and sauna. Daily guest transfers to both public and private beaches, as well as the nearby shopping mall are on offer. Distance from Al Thiqah Club: 12km Distance from American University of Sharjah: 16km Distance from Aldhaid Sports Club: 55km Time Hotel Sharjah Located 20-minutes from Dubai airport and 30 minutes from Sharjah airport the Time Ruby Hotel Apartments offer both one and two-bedroom apartments with kitchen facilities. Within a 3-minute walk from the beachfront, the hotel has an onsite gym facility, steam room and sauna. Centro Hotel Sharjah Three-star Centro Hotel, located 15 minutes from the city centre, offers a fitness centre with recreational table tennis facilities, sauna, jacuzzi and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Due to the closest proximity to the Aldhaid Sports Club, the Aryana and Centro hotels are available for those competing in shooting from 8 th February. Distance from Al Thiqah Club: 11km Distance from American University of Sharjah: 18km Distance from Aldhaid Sports Club: 40km Al Butsan Beach Hotel Sharjah Four-star Al Butsan Beach Hotel situated in the Al Khan area of Sharjah, boasts a roof-top swimming pool, gymnasium and sauna. The hotel also provides shuttle buses to Dubai and Sharjah city centres upon request as well as access to the private beach at the Sharjah Beach Hotel. Limited wheelchair accessible rooms are available in the hotels; therefore, accessible rooms will be allocated to large teams and/or those with the most wheelchair users. One room with an accessible bathroom will be available in each hotel for communal use only. For those who are unable to manage in their allocated rooms, shower facilities are also available in all sport venues changing facilities. Accommodation and full board (breakfast, packed lunch and dinner) costs are included in the Inclusive Day Rate. The last meal covered by this rate is breakfast on departure day. Single occupancy rooms will be chargeable at a 50 per person, per night supplement. TRANSPORT Transfers to and from Sharjah and Dubai airport will be provided on the arrival and departure days detailed on the draft schedule. Shuttle transport will also be provided for teams to travel between the hotels and sport venues throughout the Games. A schedule will be communicated upon arrival. The cost of all travel detailed above is included in the Inclusive Day Rate. VISAS Due to UAE border regulations, visa letters cannot be issued automatically on the IWAS Management System. Scanned copies of the passports of all members of the teams (athletes & staff) must be sent to games@iwasf.com to allow the Local Organising Committee to approve the applications. Please note, passports must have a minimum of six months remaining before the expiry date after the day of departure. It is the responsibility of the teams to check their visa requirements for the host country and to ensure the process is managed in a timely manner. Visa invitation letters will not be issued until Registration Fees are received in full.

AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF SHARJAH Badminton, Swimming & Table Tennis The 50m pool facilities at the American University of Sharjah will be used for the swimming competition Table tennis will be hosted in one of the many halls at the American University of Sharjah ALDHAID SPORTS CLUB Shooting The shooting range at Aldhaid Sports Club will host competition in 10m, 25m and 50m

CLASSIFICATION opportunities are indicated in the above information. Sports with classification approval pending will be communicated immediately upon receipt of appointments from the IF. assessments must be requested and scheduled directly with sport specific International Federations. IWAS will share the classification schedules once received from the IFs. Athletes with classification booked must arrive at least the day before their scheduled slot. ATHLETE REPLACEMENT/SUBSTITUTION Nations can replace/substitute competitors of the same gender, class and event for those that have had to withdraw for any reason up to two weeks (27/01/2018) before the start of the Games. The LOC/IWAS reserves the right to refuse any substitution or replacement after this time. INSURANCE Teams/competitors must provide insurance for their own accident and liability. IWAS or the LOC accepts no liability and assumes no responsibility for loss or theft of materials or personal belongings during the Games. All participants have the duty to observe safety regulations and other rules of the facilities provided. All teams are required to sign the provided waiver before the start of the Games. ACCREDITATIONS A recent passport sized photo, with a clear, light coloured background must be uploaded to the entry system for every member of the delegation. Accreditations will be available upon arrival to the Games. ATHLETE LICENSING Athletes competing in World Para Swimming, Athletics & Shooting approved competition must have a valid, Current, Review or Confirmed international classifications to be eligible to have their results recognised by IPC, for purposes of rankings, records and qualification for future events, prior to the start of competition. For the other sports with ranking points/qualification criteria, athletes must be licensed with their relevant International Federation prior to the Games to allow their results to be recognised. However, it is not a requirement to have an athlete license to compete at the Games.

ANTI-DOPING The IWAS Anti-Doping Code, in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code, will apply to all sports. Athletes can be tested at any time, during or out of competition. For more information on the IWAS Anti-Doping Code, please visit the IWAS website. Only sport specific matters can be raised and resolved in this meeting. Logistical matters relating to accommodation, transport, finances etc. can be dealt with at the Team Manager Meetings. TEAM MANAGER MEETINGS The Team Manager s Meetings will address all issues excluding sport. It is mandatory for a representative of each team to attend these meetings to ensure the most current information is received. A maximum of two representatives can attend, as well as a translator if necessary.
