Dear Brothers and Sisters, Chuck Rudolph PWP Chuck Aerie Rudolph Secretary / Trustee PWP Aerie Secretary / Trustee FOE2137.ORG The Talon...the official voice of Somerset Aerie #2137 Bridgewater, New Jersey MAY/JUNE 2016 We are fast approaching a critical deadline for Dues payment. The Grand Aerie has mandat- ed that all Local Aeries change their due date for Dues payment to May 31st to correspond with the end of the Fraternal Year. Since our due date had always been December 31st we needed to shift our tradi- tional due date. Currently there are in excess of fifty members that are in danger of being dropped from our rolls for non-payment of Dues. In the past the Local Sec- retary had some discretion when it came to dropping members for non-payment of Dues. This is no longer the case as The Grand Aerie will now automatically drop a member from the rolls on the last grace period day. I urge anyone who has neglected to pay their Dues to do so as soon as possible to avoid being dropped. Our Aerie has entered into a unique partnership with The Somerset Patriots that will allow us to work with and through their own foundation to provide donations to local causes that we have traditionally supported as well as other deserving groups. Our Aerie will benefit in several ways including some much needed positive publicity and notoriety for our values and mission of helping oth- ers less fortunate than ourselves. We are now listed as a Grand Slam Sponsor and as such will be mentioned prominently in their game programs, scoreboard, website and game announce- ments. One facet of the partnership allows a $100.00 donation for every home game home run hit by a Patriot player throughout the season. The recipients will change throughout the sea- son and the program will allow us to direct much needed funding to deserving groups. We will post updates as we go through the season and look forward to this relationship. With elections of officers coming soon I would personally like to offer my thanks to all of the 2015-2016 2016 officers for their service this past year. I encourage interested members who would like to be more involved to consider running for an office. Remember, our Aerie can only be successful with the help of everyone. Fraternally, Secretary s Corner
