With moderate displacement and draft, she has excellent sailing characteristics. Aeolian was designed as a blue water cruising yacht with a timeless classic hull shape and more modern superstructure. Her large cockpit and open plan deckhouse create a yacht which is not only perfect for cruising tropical climes, but also one that is equally proficient in high latitudes. Aeolian is a god of the wind, which we hope will take her to many remote and special areas. Andre Hoek. The Builder Holland Jachtbouw is renowned as one of the premier yacht builders since established in 1990. Located at the heart of the Dutch yacht building industry they have built an enviable reputation for delivering yachts of the highest calibre. Whirlwind is such a yacht. Built in aluminium and finished to the highest standards she offers comfort as well as excellent sailing performance. Her high ballast to displacement ratio ensures that she is a stiff Yacht that points well to windward. The layout of the deck is technically simple and readily understood, enabling the crew and guests alike to sail the Yacht with the minimum effort.
The Centre Cockpit Step on-board Whirlwind and prepare to be seduced. Her expansive and ingeniously designed centre cockpit is ideal for both sailing and dining, and the high-sided back rests are designed to offer maximum comfort, as well as keeping children safety in view. Equipped with a collapsible bimini, guests can remain protected from the sun whilst under sail, or enjoy a well prepared lunch in the shade. And as the sun sets there is no finer place to dine and soak in Whirlwind s unique ambiance. The Upper Saloon. Once tempted by the superior calibre of her exterior, Whirlwinds capacious interior and generous headroom will further entice. As equally well-thought-out as the deck and being fully air-conditioned, her well-appointed interior offers welcome respite from the heat. The upper saloon boats panoramic views and comfortable dining for eight, as well as an easily accessible navigation station starboard. Step down to the lower saloon and the feeling of space and tranquillity is unmistakable. For relaxing moments a large horseshoe shaped sofa beckons, whilst the office area starboard is fully equipped for those who wish to keep in touch with the outside world. The stylish galley area also located starboard is neatly tucked between the upper and lower saloon. Whirlwind can accommodate up to eight guests in three generously proportioned double cabins; two of which have Pullman berths. The master cabin is located forward port side, and two identical cabins are positioned aft at either side of the upper saloon stairway. Each cabin is equipped with its own en-suite shower room. Whirlwind has been meticulously maintained since she was launched in 1998 and benefitted from an extensive re-fit in 2007/08. During this period the main engine, generators, teak deck, standing and running rigging were replaced. In addition, the hull, superstructure, mast and boom were repainted. Her owner has continually strived to maintain and improve her current immaculate condition, and his passion for her rare ambiance and superb sailing capabilities is reflected in the care and attention lavished and the reputation she enjoys as a sailing yacht.
