Mikaelsen s twilight golf Requirements: Have fun using good judgement and golf etiquette, (Turkey Creek is our home). Format: Flights: You will compete only against the teams in your flight. Flights will change weekly by how your team placed the week before. The Red flight will be the winningest 7 teams. The White flight will be the 6 middle teams and, the Blue flight will be the 6 teams with the most loses. There will be several different games played including a Ryder Cup, individual championships and, team championships. Tees: White tees, Ladies will play from the gold tees. A select few may play from the (white/gold combo tees). Any player 80+ year old, and any player with limited distance, skills or, health issues). See me if you qualify! I will place you on the combo players list. All tees are subject to change. Fees: Green fees will be 20 dollars. Prize money will be six dollars. Closest to the Hole insurance will be 5 dollars (see description below). The Truesdale pre game contest is free, (see description below). Check in: Please, get to the course early, warm up, have lunch if you like, enter (the Truesdale ) pre game contest and, be prepared to start (sometimes as much as 30 min. early). Captains check in your team. Find your captain, he will collect your green fee and your prize money. You may also go directly to the pro shop and check in under Mikaelsen s twilight league. Captain s may purchase a large bucket of range balls for $4 (a $10 value). Carts, will have team names, starting holes and, official score cards. Do not take your cart to the range or course. You will be escorted to you er starting hole once everyone has checked in. Schedule: Twilight golf Starts Monday Sept. 3, and ends Monday, March 18. We will play the back nine the first and third Monday of each month. Tee times will very depending on daylight changes. See Schedule: Starting holes: Each week you r starting hole will rotated forward. This will change for some contests. Bankers/scores will have starting hole priority. Scoring: Please, turn in a readable, correct, official score card. Scoring has been an on going issue and needs to be addresses. Score keeping class will begin as needed. LOL Truly, this is something we can improve on.
Banking: At the end of each contest Captains please, turn in your teams score card with 6 dollars from each member of your team (24 dollars) to the banker in charge of your flight. Bankers will pay first and second place in each flight. In most contests, teams receive 60 dollars for first and 24 dollars for second. Some winnings may change due to players missing or the contest being played. Remainder will go into the end of year fund or used as needed. Subject to change! Closest to the hole: On par threes the ball closes to the hole must be on the green to win. Winnings will be based on the number of players in each handicap group. There will be one 5 dollar winner in each handicap group ( 10 or less, 11 to 13 and, 14 or more ). Subject to change! If there is no winner, the prize money goes into the end of the year fund. If you are the last team to play a par three pick up the marker and measuring tape, turn the results into the CTP banker and the marker and measuring tape into the pro shop. At times, a Long Drive contest, may be added. Hole in one Insurance: costs is 5 dollars. If no one makes an ace, we divid the money between the one player, from each handicap group who had the closest to the hole shot for the year. You are limited to one win and must have insurance to be eligible. Birdie shoot out: For games that apply, you may enter the net birdie shoot out for 5 dollars. The player with the most net birdies wins the pot. Ties will split the pot. See banker, Ray Blasquez to enter. Games: Captain s will receives a weekly description of the game and a sample score card to be passed on to their team mates before each contest. All players are expected to know the game, starting time and starting hole before they arrive. If you don t hear from your team Captain by Friday contact him. If at any time you do not understand the game, contact Gym Mikaelsen. Handicaps: All players are encouraged to establish an NCGA handicap. The maximum handicap will be 15 for nine holes with a
few exceptions. NCGA handicaps will be adjusted the 15th of each month only. None NCGA handicaps will be adjusted every time we have a contest with gross scores. For returning players without a handicap, you begin with your last years ending HC. No more than one handicap stroke given on par threes. The NCGA formula for calculating a nine hole handicap will be used. Bye s: Monday night procedure with 19 teams. 1. Team byes are on the regular scheduled. 2. If we know in advance 18 teams or less will be playing, there will be no bye team, and may play the regular time schedule. 3. If they elect to play, Early birds are responsible to get prize money to bankers. 4. All fees and contest will apply for the same 9 holes as the field. 5. If they play 18 holes they will finish with the rest of the field. 6. CTP markers will be out for the early birds. 7. Early birds will not play the Pre game contest. 8. See Early Bird schedule on this website. 9. Bye teams have the following choice s Elect not to play Start two and a half hours early and play 9 for $20 or18 holes for $35. Teams: Most teams will have 4 regular player and two or more substitutes called Alternates. Some teams may elect to have 6 or more regular players and rotate them weekly. All teams may select a team name or one will be assigned. In the Absence of a Captain another player must take his or her place. Captains: Collect and pay green fees, collect prize money and pay your banker at the end of the round. Collect and pay for range balls for your team as needed. Keep your team informed weekly to the game and scoring. Make team mates responsible to you and ready to play each week. Inform me, ASAP to any problems or changes. Show your leadership and address any problems as they occur. Expect some slow play with 18 and sometimes 19 teams playing nine holes. We will plan contest and play by some simple rules to speed up your round as best we can. Please be considerate of all the players in our league. Talk to your players about helping more and complaining less. Be patient, play ready golf, watch and locate
each others ball, try to keep up with group in front of you and enjoy the time you have on the course with friends. Regular Players: Are friends, men and women, we like being around and can stand their attitude on and off the golf course. They are so dependable that alternates are seldom or ever necessary. They are responsible for finding their own substitutes when needed, and can secure any alternate wanting to play from the alternates list. Alternates: Are unable to commit to playing every Monday but, will substitutes for regular players as needed. You will be placed on the alternates phone list and may be called upon at anyone by a regular player. If you want to play and are not called, contact me. I can usually find you a team. Alternates must be dependable and are expected to play as much as possible. Rules; You may pick, clean and place, within one club length through the green and no closer to the hole. Through the green is, all parts of the course except, hazards, greens, bunkers and out of bounds. Give me putts! You may pick up your ball if, your ball is inside 36 inches, (the average length of a putter.) or, if your putt is not needed for a team score. Give me putts are subject to change for some contests. In the interest of time, you may also, pick up at anytime and give yourself an 8x on the hole when your score will not be needed. You need to know marked areas and how to play from hazards. You need to know when and how to play a provisional ball. Keep all eyes on shots and help locate golf balls. Play read golf! ( Depending on the game other rules may apply.) Free Pre game contest; In memory of Terry Truesdale. Approximately an hour and a half before regular play and when we are playing the front nine, walk or ride out to your third hole tee and take one shot. This will give you an idea of your club selection before regular play, a chance to win gifts from the pro shop and, a free lunch from food services manager Jeff Adelman. You will also, receive 100 dollars if you make a Truesdale ace. Buffets: We will have two or more buffets, one to kick off the season, Christmas and, our awards at the end of the season, All at Turkey Creek Golf Course. They are popular events you do not want to miss! Course management, Dress, and etiquette: Respect the course and other players, follow all cart signs and roped areas, Replace divots and fix ball
marks, not only yours but others. Follow the course dress code. You are encouraged to have matching team shirts. Health Issue: For your safety, we have several players trained in CPR and the use of an AED, which will be with us at all times. If you need assistance or a handicap flag check with me or the pro shop. We will accommodate all players health needs in anyway necessary for them to enjoy golf at the fullest.
