Art. 815.3.5: new article, preventing the nationals results to break the consecutiveness of irregular gaits or metabolic reasons; 815.3.5 National results cannot interfere with extended rest periods applied to FEI Horses who have failed to qualy due to irregular gaits or metabolic reasons at consecutive CEI or National Events. Art. 815.3.6: new addition of a 100 penalty points to the athlete his horse is not brought to the final Veterinary Inspection, and 100 penalty points for incorrect behavior upon art. 169.7.1 of the General Regulations; 1. If a Horse is not brought to the Final Veterinary Inspection the Athlete will receive 100 penalty points. 2. Contrary to Article 169.7.1 of the GRs incorrect behaviour towards (a) Event Officials or any other party connected with the Event (other Athlete, journalist, public etc.) and/or (b) Doping Control Officers, Testing Veterinarian, Chaperones and/or any other person involved in the collection of a doping control sample will entail a penalty of 100 points.
Article 816 - QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE & CERTIFICATES OF CAPABILITY 816.1 Novice Qualying: to be administered by each NF. The Novice Qualication eligibility form (Annex 2 of the Endurance Rules) needs to be filled in on the FEI online platform prior to the relevant NF making the first entry for the Athlete/Horse. 816.1.1 Horses and Athletes must, though not necessarily as a combination: 816.1.1.1 Successfully complete 2 rides of distances between 40-79 km and 2 rides of between 80-90 km at speeds of 16 kph or under. Art. 816.1.2: wording updated for a new interpretation of the novice qualications for Horses; 816.1.2 From their first novice qualication ride, horses must complete the requirements of the qualication phase within 24. Horses are eligible to compete in a CEI 1* event 12 from the completion of the first novice ride provided they have completed all the novice qualications including respecting speed and rest period restrictions. Once the novice qualications are fully completed, horses are eligible to compete in a CEI1* event for a 24 period. ( See horse Novice Qualication Chart below ) Art. 816.1.3: wording updated for a new interpretation of the novice qualications for Athletes; 816.1.3 From their first novice qualication ride, athletes must complete the requirements of this qualying phase within 24. Once novice qualications are fully completed, athletes are eligible to compete in a CEI1* event 6 from the completion of the first novice event. After having completed the novice qualication, should an athlete fail to complete a CEI1* during the next 24 period, the athlete will need to refresh their novice qualication before progressing further.

Art. 816.1.4: new article, giving the possibility for experienced Horses to not follow the normal novice qualications requirements. It is a fast track qualications with new conditions; 816.1.4 For 8 years old Horses and older, dispensation of art. 816.1.2 and 816.1.3 can be granted athletes and Horses, not necessarily as a combination, have accumulated a minimum of 240km in a maximum of three National Events in a 36 period. Athlete Penalty Points during a 12 month rolling period According to Art. 815.3.6 of the Endurance Rules Penalty points awarded as infractions occur. Penalty points accumulate from the first penalty, rolling forward for a period of 12. Thereafter, on the first anniversary of each penalty, such penalty is dropped from the running total. 100 penalty points will result in an automatic two-month suspension period, after which the points total is reduced to zero.
