EKU won 65-61 in Richmond in 2013, MSU grabbed a 91-81 victory in Springfield in 2004, and the Colonels won a 2002 WNIT game in Springfield by a 72-65 margin in 2002. Scouting is 4-1 on the season with wins over Western Carolina, Miami (Ohio), East Tennessee State and Cincinnati Christian after a season-opening loss to Richmond. The Colonels are picked to finish ninth in the Ohio Valley Conference this year, but have posted an impressive plus-23.2 scoring margin through five games. Three EKU players average at least 13.4 points per game, led by Shameekia Murray at 16.6 and Jalen O Bannon with 14.4 points and 11.0 rebounds. As a team, EKU scores 81.2 points and allows 58 while shooting 44.8 percent overall, 37.8 percent from long range and 70.8 percent from the charity stripe. Scouting the Lady Bears Missouri State is 4-4 on the year as the preseason favorite to win the Missouri Valley Conference. Preseason all-mvc selection Kenzie Williams averages 12.8 points per game while shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc, and sophomore Liza Fruendt averages 12.1 off the bench. Senior guard Tyonna Snow averages 12.3 points and 2.8 steals, ranking fourth in MSU history with 265 career thefts, and Hillary Chvatal leads the club in rebounding at 7.3 per game to go with a 9.1 scoring average. As a team, the Lady Bears average 70.6 points per game and allow 66.8 while shooting 38.1 percent overall, 31.7 percent from long distance and 73.6 percent from the charity stripe. Last Time Out Missouri State out-scored Arkansas by 15 points in the fourth quarter to pull away with a 69-54 decision and its second road victory over a Southeastern Conference opponent this season Wednesday evening at Bud Walton Arena. Lexi Hughes sparked the 26-11 outburst with 11 fourth-period points, while Tyonna Snow scored six of her game-high 18 points in the final stanza to help lead MSU to its first win over the Razorbacks in Fayetteville since 1997. Held to 12-of-47 (.255) shooting from the field over the first three periods, the Lady Bears erupted on the offensive end over the game s final 10 minutes, connecting on 9-of-17 (.529) shots. Hughes hit on 4-of-6 attempts, including a pair of clutch 3-pointers down the stretch, while the MSU defense held the Razorbacks to a 5-of-16 (.313) showing in the period and just.344 (21-of-64) shooting for the night. Key to that result was a strong post defensive effort that helped hold SEC scoring leader Jessica Jackson to a season-low four points on 1-of-9 shooting. Table of Contents 3...
