March Newsletter 2019 Happy St Patrick s Day! What a great Winter Beach Blast! I think it was one of the best. The club welcomed everyone and then an announcement was made that our Chair Debbie Brown is stepping down after this year. In honor of her chairing 10 years of Winter Beach Blast, a plaque was awarded for her service. Thank you Debbie, from the Rock Hill Shag Club, for all your hard work and dedication over the years. The food was alway full, I m sure no one went home hungry. People seem to hover around the free shooter stations and the beer keg. Jim Quick Band put on a great preformance. During the break we had a great entainment of dancers through the years with 70, 60, 40, 20 year olds then the juniors. Wow, they were amazing to watch! The liquior wagon was won by Cecil Martin, ACSC Treasurer. He made an thoughtful gresture of donating it back to our 2019 ACSC Workshop to be re-raffled. The half and half was won by our very own Frank Price. SOS Spring Safari is nearing and we are planning on having a float in the parade on Saturday, May 4th. If you would like to be a part of the parade, let Parade Co-Chairs Ron or Penny Blaney know. Our theme will be our theme for the 2019 ACSC Summer Workshop Party Animals. Speaking of the workshop the tickets prices will go from $85 to $90 April 1st, so make sure you either mail the application or give it to Gail Davis. We need our members to make your plans on attending to help with this party that we all voted on. The committee co-chairs are working hard at putting everthing together to make it a fun weekend party with shag lessons from Nikki Kontoulas and Scott Cambell and also line dance lessons. Asscociation DJ s for the workshop will be John Smith, Eddie Anderson, Buck Crumpton, Frank Price, Gene Hensley, and Phil Long. There will be hospitality rooms for your enjoyment and a full dinner buffet on Saturday night. Remember, One and two, three and four, five six. Keep Dancing Tommy Davis RHSC Presiden t
From our Social Director, Kathy Mroz Our Winter Beach Blast was well attended. We had different door prizes and several were not claimed. However, the committee decided to go ahead and give them out to several other people. Our shag back in time was a great idea and the Jr's did a special presentation for us. The Coastliners did the music and Frank filled in at intermission. The cooler/cart of liquor was won by Cecil Martin from Columbia SC and the 50/50 was won by Frank Price for the total of $459. A special thanks to all who helped in so many different ways. Good Bye to Debbie for 10 great years and who will step up to take it over next year? It will be hard shoes to fill. Now don't forget the 5th Saturday Party at the Elks club. It will be a soup and cornbread and desserts too.
