School Council Elections School Council nominations close on Wednesday 28 February. Commonwealth Games Baton Relay The students and teachers had a great time at the Murrabit leg of the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay.
It was very exciting to cheer on the runners, hold the baton and Borobi the mascot, and generally join in on the festivities of the day. What s Happening in the Classroom ZOOPER DOOPERS for sale @50c every lunchtime. Miss Noonan and Mr. Millard are donating the Zooper Doopers and the funds we raise will go towards those less fortunate than ourselves. We hope to purchase a sleeping tent for a homeless person. This will help to remind us to be kind to people who need a helping hand. (The Zooper doopers will be available until we at least raise our $100 needed for a swag for a homeless person) Junior Room Our STEM task a few weeks ago was to make a kite. We made the kites then trialled them on a very windy day with little success! Senior Room/Whole School The Swimming Program has been a great success. All students have made significant improvement over the three weeks. Thank you to Murrabit Primary for letting us join them for the program. The Kerang Swimming Pool is a credit to the Shire of Gannawarra and the community. Thank you also to our drivers, for donating your services. Much appreciated!
Students have been having regular Quick Writes, where they write as much as they can on a particular topic in a fifteen to twenty minutes writing session. Quite often the students don t actually have time to conclude their stories, so they are able to return to them at a later stage if they desire. On Monday the students wrote about a crazy day. One morning, I woke up to go to work. When I got outside my car was split in half. I walked over to the shed to grab my bike. When I got to work my boss walked up to me and she said, You re late! When I was in my office my boss called me on her phone. She yelled through the phone, You re not working here anymore you burger! I mumbled, This is the worst day of my life! When I got home, I called my friend Keigan Pickisnose. He said he would come over later at 7:00pm. When Keigan Pickisnose was at my house we both tried to find out who was destroying everything. We both went to the park and saw Ryan Haslonghair destroying everything with his lazy eyes. I walked up to him and said, Stop, or I will get my robot to kick you into space! Blake Wednesday is my least favourite day of the week. Everyone calls it Wacky Wednesday. I wonder why. So I got out of bed and nothing wacky was going on, except the bed was on the roof but that s not wacky. I went into the kitchen and out the window. I saw a worm chasing a bird but that s not wacky. So I went outside and the apple tree had peanuts growing on it, but that s not wacky, although I thought peanuts grow underground. So I went on the computer and played my favourite game called Rome Total War. Ryan The day that was crazy I woke up and everyone had turned into an enormous biscuit. Everyone said, Wooooooooooo! It was crazy. I was thinking it was funny. I wanted to eat them but I did not eat them because they were my friends. I made a spell. I said to everyone, I am giving you this potion to make you be a human again. They drank the potion and they changed back into normal humans. They felt great. I felt super great. Paige Wacky wheels One day I woke up and had breakfast. After I got dressed I went to the park, and the duck had a wheel head, the pig had a couple of wheels for his legs. The three twins had their hair chopped off by a really sharp wacky wheel. The cat was riding a horse, so I did too. I bumped into a jar. A genie came out and I said, How did these wacky things happen? You just need to go to bed. So I did. The next day I woke up and everything was back to normal. That day I cleaned the whole house. It was hard work.but there was still one more wacky thing. There were bananas growing in the lemon tree. I had no clue to fix that so I asked mum and she knew. She said, Pick the bananas off. Megan THE DAY OF THE DINOSAUR. Mum! Come now can we buy the amazing Dino? screamed Erin. No, whispered mum. Oh my god, look at the time. Come on Erin, we have to run, shouted Mum. Brrrum brum brum brum. Erin go to bed now! shouted Mum. Ok mum. Said Erin. THE NEXT DAY. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Dad you re a dinosaur! Erin screamed. Erin you have gone nuts. I m not a dinosaur, Dad laughed. Erin Muddled up Monday One Monday I woke up to find my dog had turned into a meerkat. I jumped out of bed excited and confused. I patted Mimi (my meerkat) and went off to breakfast. When I sat at the table I saw two weird things. The table had 17 legs and the table was not a table, it was a piano! When our meal was served, my sister had pizza, my mum had birthday cake, my dad had lambs fry and bacon, I had bacon and legs and Mimi had peanut butter. After breakfast Dad said he will take me to the zoo, which I thought was a bit weird because he is always too busy. Of course I said yes, who doesn t want to see the meerkats because they re such a cute animal. Also I thought that Mimi could see her family and her friends in there. So we went to the zoo. We saw the lions, the koalas, the pandas and the main reason we are here, the meerkats! Milla Baby Monday I thought if I stay in bed it won t happen but it did happen. It was Baby Monday. It is a crazy day. I turned into a baby. I looked outside. There were babies everywhere. I crawled to school. Keigan Crazy Story Why is there a panda on my head, and puppy dogs, tigers and more pandas surroundings me? Of course, it s my birthday today. So that s why there s a panda on my head, puppy dogs, tigers and pandas all around me. Get up! yelled Mum. Noooo, I am not getting up! I screamed. I hope nothing is weird. Oh no! I looked at my legs. They were eggs and my arms are lollipops, at least they ll taste nice. No, no, no, no! I said to myself. Everyone will want to eat my arms because they re made of lollipops.
