The group of young enthusiasts with its leader Jaroslav Lacina President of Arabian Horse Breeders Organization of Czech Republic (ACHPAK) and world known judge for the eight time organized the National Show located in Jaroslav s home city of Liberec close to Polish and German border. Though the weather was not the one that the organizers requested the atmosphere of the event taking place in friendly riding club was really amazing. The short history of private Czech breeding and still not too big number of horses gives opportunity to run the breeders and spectators friendly show with some space for explaining the Arabian horse itself, its features, history and methods of judging, all far away from the stressful and rush atmosphere of some world s bigger events. For the organizers of Liberec show it was also an occasion for some experiments. Last times a lot of discussions on ECAHO forum were caused by the point judging system when we all used to judges using half scale only that is sometimes confusing to the new spectators and Arabian horse exhibitors. After consultation with ECAHO representative and the judges invited Jaroslav Lacina introduced the new idea of using the whole scale of 20 points system so the panel of judges was asked to strictly use all the points from 1 to 20. an interesting challenge and hard task it was but after further horses being judged the experiment shown that not only 15-20 points works in Arabian horse judgment. The group of horses shown in very natural and horse friendly way without a lot of glossy make up and refined hard stand was really a pleasure to watch. The participants were representing the strong influence of Egyptian, Russian and Polish blood into the modern breeding in Czech Republic. Also some non-czech bred entries appeared as US imported charming senior lady Imperial Kaapha the further Senior Champion mare, German bred exotic Al Milan sired colt Milano named Junior Champion Stallion or the Reserve one in this category greatly moving bay colt S Maran sired by Madallan Madheen. Jaroslav Lacina during birds presentation Riding presentation Sarka Nemeckova and Gabor S It s worth to mention that Czech breeders take much care also of performance use of their horses in hand classes also contained group of geldings with some impressive entries. The winner of this class very correct Gabor S (Pure Polish but born in Germany) also presented his wonderful horsemanship abilities performing in Arabian native costume riding presentation with his owner later on. Very nice addition to the program of this rainy event were a special presentation of haunting birds and belly dancers giving a lot of joy especially to the gentlemen watching and judging the show The panel of judges had also a chance to elect the winner and honor with the trophies some non-horse competitors of junior belly dancers a group of young girls whose invention and passion for the competition was really heartwarming. The whole event was nicely commented by dependable Jaroslav Lacina who took only one break from running the show when one of the handlers was unable to show the senior stallion, Jaroslav gently took the lead and acted also as a professional handler upon the agreement of ECAHO representative Gudrun Waiditschka watching the show personally. It was already unofficially confirmed that in the near future Czech Republic will be a host of international event in its historical city of Praha. It s really worth to cross our fingers for Jaroslav Lacina and his team to make this plan come true with their passion and the atmosphere they created during the National Show it has a chance to be a great meeting point for this part of Europe.
