Official Publication of the Junior Foundation Vol. 4, Issue 8 February 2013 Junior Tour Edition Junior Tour Director New Additions To website www.wiscjuniorgolf.com Tentative 2013 Schedule NOW available online New user friendly Website Changes In January Scholarship Application available online Look for junior membership application in February. Memberships will be mailed out to all 2012 members. Dear Junior Golfers & Parents I hope all of you had a Happy New Year! The Junior Foundation had a great year and is looking to keep it going with some new tournaments and sites. Our weird Wisconsin winter is at it again the past few weeks. It will eventually warm up outside. Thank you to all participants of our junior tournaments, clinics and camps. We could not have had these great venues to play at without the support of PGA Professionals, golf course owners, superintendents and facility managers who support junior golf. In 2013, you will see some changes, mainly to the Players Tour. We are expanding this tour to additional 36 hole events. The Meadow Valleys course at Blackwolf Run will kickoff the season June 9-10. We would like these events to offer more of a college feel and college coaches like to see 36 hole scores from events. The college division will now allow 21 year olds to participate this summer, up from 20 year olds. They will compete in their own division just like in 2012 and compete for golf shop gift certificates. The junior membership will continue to offer benefits like a divot repair tool ($15 value), personalized metal bag tag, Culver s coupon ($4 value) and much more. We will continue to run two Adult/Junior events in 2013. This event will allow juniors and an adult/parent to play together in a fun format. It will be an afternoon shotgun with lunch before the event. More details will be available online in February.
