The fllwing rules are effective fr League Play as amended at the May 2015 Annual General Meeting. 1) All league games shall be pen start (fly-away), with duble finish. a) 1 Game = 1 Leg and 1 Set = 2 Legs b) A match will cnsist f 23 Legs, t be played as fllws: i. Team game 701 ii. 6 sets (12 Legs) f dubles - 601 iii. 5 sets (10 Legs) f singles - 501 iv. The ttal attainable r awarded pints t be made shall be 23 pints (1 pint per game wn). 2) Captains f bth teams must fill ut their rster sheets fr the evenings match at the same time, (prir t seeing the ppnent s sheet). a) Captains must use a different cmbinatin f players fr each Set. b) Captains must cunt the number f Sets each member will be playing, and write that number beside the players name. 3) N match will be pstpsed where a team is able t field a minimum f fur players (including the use f spares). In the case f an emergent situatin due t inclement weather r a dire emergency where a team is unable t play a minimum f fur players a match will be rescheduled within tw (2) weeks. a) The Captain f a team that is unable t field a team fr the evenings match must ntify the ppsing team within 48 hurs unless there were extenuating circumstances. b) If unable t reach the Captain f the ppsing team, he/she shuld cntact anther member f the ppnent s team, r a member f the executive. c) The team that pstpnes a match will make every effrt t reschedule the game within tw weeks f the scheduled game. The ppsing team will have the ptin f venue fr the makeup game. d) If a pstpned match is nt rescheduled within tw (2) weeks, the President and/r Rules Cmmittee will set a date fr the make-up game. e) Shuld either team be unable r unwilling t make up the game n the designated date, the President and/r Rules Cmmittee will penalize either team by assigning zer pints t the team that riginally pstpned the match and assigning 12 pints t the team that was available t play. Shuld bth teams be unable r unwilling t play, neither team will receive any pints fr the match. 4) Regular starting time fr matches will be 7:30 pm with a 15 minutes grace perid. a) Any team with 4 members present must play the evening s match, and start at the abve-mentined time. b) The penalty fr playing a 4 member team will be the lss f 2 singles Legs c) Teams playing with nly 4 members will nly be awarded pints fr singles sets played in the 1 thrugh 4 spts n their sheet (Captains may nt leave blank spts n their sheets). d) All regular players wh shw up by 7:30 wanting t play an evening s match, is entitled t play the entire match with equal numbers f sets, as practicable. e) A list f all Spares will be made available t all teams, as they becme available. f) Spares may nly play a MAXIMUM f 5 evenings after which regular dues must be paid; any team abusing the rule shall lse ALL pints the spare has gained fr them. 1
g) Spares are eligible t play fr any team in the league during the regular seasn. Prir t the end f the regular seasn a spare must pay their dues prir t playing fr a sixth time. h) Prir t the end f the regular seasn a spare must pay their dues and jin a team in rder t be eligible fr playing in the playffs. i) N member f any team and any member f a team that has been eliminated frm the Sunshine Cast Dart League playffs will be allwed t jin r spare fr any ther team still in the playffs. Any team disregarding this rule will lse all pints acquired by any ineligible player (including Teams, Dubles r Singles) where the ineligible player tk ut the game. 5) N league player shall play anything but league darts n bards adjacent t ther league matches (i.e. N practice shts). Players wh recently sat ut a game will be allwed a maximum 6 dart warm up befre cmmencing with the next game. 6) Scring shall be dne as in Natinal Rules, frm left t right. a) Shters shall nt pull their darts frm the bard until the screkeeper has tallied up the pints and are bth in agreement n the scre. b) The screkeeper must nt tuch the shters darts n the bard, fr the purpse f checking f the cunt, until the scre has been recrded. c) Chalking fr league games will start with the hme team, and then alternate fr all games played. 7) Once the match has begun, players must be available t play at all times. a) Once a game has been marked up n the chalkbard, all players shuld apprach the Oche. b) If any player(s) are absent, the ppnents and/r screkeeper may annunce a 5 minute warning. After 5 minutes has expired the game will start, and any absent player will be cnsidered a Ghst until their return. (Ghsts will receive scres f 26) c) Players shall nt unnecessarily delay a game that has already cmmenced. d) There shall be a maximum f 2 intermissins during each match, (10 minutes each) 1 will be after the first dubles set, and the secnd after all the dubles games have been cmpleted. e) Respect yur ppnent by keeping yur distance when they are at the che; Stay at least 2 feet behind the shter while they are thrwing. f) Only 1 Designated Cach is permitted t stand near, r speak t the shter n what t thrw; cmments blurted frm the rest f the team(s) are nt allwed. The designate Cast must nt be actively playing in a game. 8) A 3-Dart Rule applies when bth teams (r players; as in singles) are n duble 1. a) Each player, starting with the player wh put the 2nd team n duble 1, may thrw 3 darts regardless f where each lands. b) Play cntinues with 3 darts each until the duble 1 is attained. 9) Each team must submit match scres by the fllwing Friday r a 1 pint penalty will be deducted frm their standings. a) Scre submissin pririty is as fllws: i. 10) Any Player r team shwing unsprtsmanlike cnduct will receive a written ntice f warning frm the executive and may als be subject t a deductin f pints if deemed necessary by the rules cmmittee. a) Any further cmplaints regarding a player r team may result in further penalties (by pint deductins) and pssibly expulsin frm the league. The ffending player(s) shall frfeit their dues. 11) All cmplaints must be in writing and given t the rules cmmittee. The executive s decisin will be final. 12) Any team registering fr league play must register fr a minimum f 5 players. a) Each team must pay a minimum registratin fee f $200 (based n 5 players). This is fr playing darts nly. b) Additinal players will nt be entitled t any league awards until they have paid their league dues in full, at which time, they will be granted full membership privileges. 13) Individual membership dues are $40.00 per player. 14) Spnsring establishments dues are $60.00 per team playing and each establishment will receive sufficient dartbards fr league play. 15) The cast Dart League reserves the right t accept r decline new teams r memberships at any time. 16) All dues and fees must be paid by the last Mnday in Octber. a) Dues are nt refundable r transferable. 17) Divisin standings at year-end will determine the fllwing year s divisin placement. 18) A 1-up, 1-dwn rule shall apply: a) 1 team with the least amunt f pints in the (A)Mielke Divisin shall autmatically play in the (B)-Easterbrke Divisin the fllwing year. b) 1 team with the highest amunt f pints in the (B)Easterbrke Divisin shall autmatically play in the (A)- Mielke Divisin the fllwing year. c) New teams autmatically start in the (B)- Easterbrke Divisin. 19) A list f Rules shall be psted in each lcatin. 20) The 10 Cmmandments Fr Keeping Scre (by Sarah Parsns est.1970) shall be cnsidered an inherent part f these rules. The Sunshine Cast Dart League Etiquette shall be cnsidered an inherent part f these rules. (Adpted 2009) 21) Rules nt cvered by the Cast Dart League rules shall be referred t the Rules Cmmittee fr clarificatin - any ther, Darts BC and/r N.D.F.C rules shall apply. 22) If 5 r mre existing players change the team name, they d nt have t change divisins. 23) Any exceptins t the abve rules must g thrugh the executive fr apprval. Sunshine Cast Dart League Etiquette (adpted 2009) 1) Shw up n time fr a match r call and let smene knw yu are running late. 2) Infrm yur team captain if yu cannt make it t the match as early as pssible s that he/she can secure a replacement. It is nt just yur time, but als the ther players n yur team and yur ppnents team that shuld be cnsidered. If yu make a cmmitment t play, put the time aside in yur schedule. 3) A gentlepersn s game that always starts and ends with a handshake. Shake yur ppnents hand prir t and at the end f a match and encurage gd play. 3
4) Respect yur ppnent by keeping yur distance when they are at the che. Try t stay at least tw feet behind them while they are thrwing. 5) Stay quiet and still during yur ppnents thrw. 6) Acknwledge a gd thrw by yur ppnent nly if it is a gd thrw, therwise yu can cme acrss as patrnizing smene and that can be humiliating. Encuragement is always a gd thing. 7) Shw yur ppnent respect by nt engaging in cnversatin r chitchat during yur match with them. There is plenty f time after the match t talk r have a drink tgether. 8) Cntrl yur emtins and utbursts. These tirades are a distractin t the matches, a detriment t ur sprt, and a lack f respect t yur teammates, ppnents, and ther patrns dining r drinking in an establishment. 9) Always end yur matches the way they were started. A handshake prmtes cmpetitin and respect. 10) Treat yur partner with respect, even if he r she des nt play up t yur level. Things have a way f changing fast. 11) Stay psitive. 12) D nt tuch yur darts until the screkeeper has tallied up yur scre and yu are bth in agreement n the scre. 13) Be patient. Thrw yur darts after yur ppnent returns frm the bard and is behind yu. 14) If yu are keeping scre, stand still while facing the bard, and d nt say anything unless the player at the che asks a questin abut his r her scre, where a dart landed, r what he r she might have remaining. D nt tell a dartthrwer what t sht fr, ever; they are entitled t ne Cach nly, frm their team. 15) Diddle fr the Middle t determine wh will start the game. 16) Never thrw yur darts at anything but the dartbard. Nt nly is it embarrassing fr the sprt, but als, yu lk pretty silly thrwing r kicking yur darts int the wall after a bunce-ut r bad thrw. 17) Play by the rules as agreed upn fr the Sunshine Cast Dart League. 18) Take respnsibility fr yur pr thrw. D nt try and pass the blame n t the screkeeper, lighting, ceiling fan, r the persn thrwing at an adjacent line. 19) Stay invlved. If yu are between thrws r games, stay invlved with yur teammates' effrts at the che. 20) Prmte the sprt f darts: a. Jin a league b. Hld a league psitin c. Be a team captain d. Attend league meetings e. Keep scre when needed f. Intrduce the game t friends g. Run blind draws h. Play in the qualifiers r turnaments i. Vlunteer t help set up turnaments j. Hld dart clinics k. 21) Always play yur best every game, even if yu are in a "Rund Rbin" r "Luck f the Draw" and have nthing t gain except practice. Yur ppnents expect yur best at all times and lk frward t the challenge f playing a better thrwer. 22) Thank yur league directrs and turnament rganizers fr a jb well dne. It truly is a thankless jb. 23) If yu are a team captain, d everyne a favur by putting bad sprtsmanship cmplaints in writing and sending them t yur league fficers s that the behaviur des nt cntinue and be a detriment t yur league and ur sprt. 24) Winning is ne thing but needlessly humiliating an ppnent is anther. "10 Cmmandments" Fr Keeping Scre By Sarah Parsns 1. Screkeepers Shall Nt talk while keeping scre! 2. Screkeepers Shall Nt mve abut while keeping scre, stand still! 3. Screkeepers Shall Nt lk at the shter, stand facing the bard! 4. Screkeepers Shall Nt call ut a scre, f ne dart r all three -- unless the shter asks yu! 5. Screkeepers Shall Nt tell a shter what t sht r what cmbinatin t sht fr an ut! 6. Screkeepers Shall Nt change a scre unless it is brught t the attentin f bth shters (teams). 7. Screkeepers Shall Nt change a scre - regardless - if that player (team) has sht again and a secnd scre written dwn. An errr in a shter's scre MUST be crrected befre he (team) shts again r it stands. 8. Screkeepers Shall Nt lean ut t see where a dart is r is ging nr shall he fllw the darts with bdy r head mvement! 9. Screkeepers Shall Nt shw any sign f disgust r excitement while at the screbard! 10. Screkeepers Shall Nt change the side f the scresheet f the player in three leg matches if yu start a player n the left side f the scresheet, cntinue t keep his scre n the left- regardless f what the bull shts are. Darter's Manners Players like t encurage teammates and even cmpliment ppnents n gd play. As in mst games, there is als a certain amunt f sprtsmanship. When a player is thrwing, whether they are an ppnent r teammate, the player deserves certain curtesies frm each f us. Ds and dn ts when a player is n the line: Dn't stand beside him/her and stare at him/her. Stay well behind the line; dn't shuffle r mve arund. Dn't drp r rattle yur darts. Dn't talk t him/her, tell him/her their scre r the number he/she needs. If he/she wants help, they can step ff the line and ask fr help frm a designated cach. Limit encuragement t befre he/she steps t the line and after their turn is ver. In shrt, d nthing t break a player's cncentratin while he is n the line.
