SOUTH SHIELDS SUPER-6 DART LEAGUE RULES FOR SEASON 2016 The following rules were discussed at the League Management Committee meeting held Tuesday 15 September 2015 and were voted on at the Rules Revision Meeting held on Wednesday 07 October 2015. These rules shall apply until the end of the 2016 Season. There will be a rules revision meeting 3 months prior to the end of the 2016 season to determine rules for the following season 1.00 League 1.01 The league will be called: The South Shields Westoe Super-6 Dart League 1.02 The league is played on a Monday night and is a male only league 2.00 League Format 2.01 If the league has more than 20 teams it will be split into two divisions. The league season will be a single rundown of home and away fixtures to keep the league within one calendar year. Into the future each division will be capped at 16 teams unless a single league of 20 teams or less. There will be no more than 32 teams split into two divisions (16 each) in total in the Super-6 Dart League to keep the league more exclusive and manageable 2.02 If required, the two divisions would be split equally 2.03 Any team not fulfilling its fixtures will forfeit all league monies paid or due 3.00 Competitions 3.01 The league will comprise of the following competitions: a. League b. League Knockout Cup c. Triples Knockout Cup d. Pairs Knockout Cup e. Singles Knockout Cup f. Secretaries Cup (must be registered secretaries) 4.00 Registration Fees The league registration fees are as follows: 4.01 League registration 20.00 4.02 League Cup registration 10.00 4.03 Player registration 3.00 per person 4.04 Triples Knockout registration 6.00 per team 4.05 Pairs Knockout registration 4.00 per pair 4.06 Singles registration 2.00 4.07 It would be to the benefit of the League if all teams could submit at least two entries for the triples, pairs and singles knockout competitions (teams will be charged for a minimum of two entries per competition). The following standard charges will apply: a. Triples - 12 plus 6 per additional entry b. Pairs - 8 plus 4 per additional entry c. Singles - 4 plus 2 per additional entry

4.08 Monthly subscriptions 15.00 (payable at each monthly meeting) 5.00 Registration 5.01 Team Secretaries must use the following official registration forms: a. team registration form b. player transfer request form 5.02 Teams will be limited to a maximum of 12 players who may sign on at any time during the season 5.03 Once the 12 player team limit has been reached teams wishing to sign additional players (subject to an additional 3.00 fee per player) must use an official league player registration form and release existing players first, to ensure that no more than 12 players are signed on at any one time 5.04 Players can register to play on the day of a match as long as this has been agreed before 5pm with the League Registration and Fixtures Secretary so that the opposing side can be informed. The 3.00 registration fee must be paid at the following league meeting 5.05 Any new player signing on after the completion of the League Cup Group Stages will not be eligible to play in the knockout stages 5.06 A Player may be registered for one team only for League, League Cup, Triples, and Pairs matches, e.g., a Player from Team A cannot play in the pairs with a player from Team F 5.07 To protect the integrity of the league, the League will not knowingly register a player registered in any other Monday Night Darts League. It is up to the individual player to declare his situation and the secretary of each team to determine the players eligibility before signing the player on 5.08 Formal confirmation is required from another league to confirm that the player in question has de-registered from the other league. A player will be tied to their league until fixtures completed however the league committee will except that the player will be eligible to play following 14 days of initial notification and receipt of correspondence (whichever is the greater) 6.00 Transfers 6.01 Transfers from other teams may be made using an official transfer request form at a fee of 5.00 per player, payable to the transferring team via the League Committee. The new team must also pay an additional 3.00 fee to register the new player 6.02 Transferring players will be cup-tied if they had already played in any of the League Cup, Triples or Pairs games for their previous team. However players will be eligible to play in the singles knockout finals for their new team 7.00 Match Night 7.01 Match night is a Monday at 8.15pm with an 8.30pm commencement however Team secretaries/captains may mutually agree a delayed start up to a maximum of 15 minutes, however games must commence no later than 8.45. An earlier start of 8.00pm may also be agreed by mutual consent. Etiquette should prevail if players need to play their singles first because of shift-work however only those players drawn out, 4 th, 5 th or 6 th 7.02 The home team must ensure that the match board is available from 8.00pm for the visiting team to practice 7.03 Where possible all League and Cup Matches to be played as per the fixture lists or draws

7.04 Where teams wish to postpone matches, requests must be received no later than 7pm on the Tuesday prior to the next match to allow at least 6 Days for the opposition team to cancel any arrangements 7.05 Rearrangement of matches must be agreed by with the League Registration and Fixtures Secretary 7.06 A list of contact numbers will be provided if any team needs to contact your opposing team should any pre-match issues arise, however it is up to the secretary to advise the League Management Committee of any changes as soon as possible 7.07 All teams must ensure that the board is set at the right height and that the oche (where possible and practical a raised oche should be provided by the home team) is the correct distance from the board as per the following dimensions: a. Height of Board 173cm's to the centre of the bull b. Length of throw 237cm's to the toe of the oche c. Diagonal measurement is 293.4cm's from the centre of the bull to the toe of the oche 7.08 Each team shall have a check marker at the match. No player shall withdraw their darts until the marker calls the score (restate that the marker is the one that confirms) 7.09 A players score is shown by point of entry of the dart where the point of the dart comes to rest in the board 7.10 Losing teams do not pay the winning team any money following completion of matches 8.00 League Match Format 8.01 League matches are to comprise 12 legs of darts and will consist of: a. One 6 player team game of 1001 b. Two triples games of 901 c. Three pairs games of 701 d. Six singles games of 501 8.02 Team playing order is determined by the drawing of names. Any team short must make up the six with X's. The X's placed where they are drawn out 8.03 Any team starting short-handed must bear the handicap until the conclusion of the opening leg, i.e. after 1001 has been scored 8.04 Late comers cannot join in if they arrive after completion of the first leg 8.05 Any team failing to turn up, or fielding 3 players or less will forfeit the game 12-0, and will be subject to a 15.00 fine (deductible from the teams end of the season pay-out) 8.06 Any team who fields an ineligible player will be fined 5.00 and the points awarded to the opposing team (deductible from the teams end of the season pay-out) 8.07 All games are straight start, double finish, a bull counting as double twenty-five, with the away team throwing first on all odd games, the home team throwing first on all even games 8.08 Points are scored for League matches on the following basis: a. 2 points for a win b. 1 point for a draw c. 0 points for a loss

8.09 Points scored as above are added to the number of legs won for a total points score as per the following examples: a. A 12-0 win scores 14 points the loser getting 0 b. A 6-6 draw scores 7 points for both sides c. A 7-5 loss scores 5 points for the losing team and 9 points for the winning team 8.10 The hosts not providing food at their home match will have to supplement the away team with 15 compensation (deductible from the teams end of the season pay-out and paid to the away team) 9.00 League Cup Knockout Match Format 9.01 League Cup matches are to played using the same format as per League fixtures 9.02 League Cup games will be played on a home and away basis in groups (numbers to be determined). The top two teams shall advance to the next round which may be played on a home and away knockout basis 9.03 Where a knockout stage League Cup game is tied at 6-6 (single leg basis) or 12-12 (two leg basis), a 1001 team game will decide the outcome of the match, with a toss of a coin to determine starting order 9.04 The League Cup Final shall be played at a neutral venue, with the toss of a coin determining order of play. The winner shall be the first team to reach seven legs 10.00 Results Sheets (the League Committee will confirm the format of future result sheets) 10.01 The home team must provide a result sheet at the end of each match. Results sheets are A4 format and will enable a complete player record to be recorded. For every leg of darts, record: a. All 180s (circle the appropriate number) b. All 100 plus finishes (record the actual scores, e.g. 117) c. To record the winning leg Circle the W and record adjacent within the Cumulative Score boxes, e.g. 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-3 etc. Mark one or zero against each leg d. Record Singles legs of 18 darts or less (record the actual finish, e.g. 16 darts) 10.02 The sheet should be completed in every detail. Either, both secretaries, or captains, (or combination of) must sign the sheet and check that all 180s, 100+ finishes and any singles legs of 18 darts or less are recorded. The result sheet should be either: a. Posted through the door of the League Registration and Fixtures Secretary (Dean J Apes, 15 Mortimer Road, South Shields, NE33 4TT) by 7pm on the Tuesday following the match to enable a league match report to be completed for the Shields Gazette b. Scanned and emailed to: dean.apes@ncl.ac.uk and copied to dean.apes@gmail.com by 7pm on the Tuesday following the match c. Results sheets can also be photographed and sent by text, email or Whatsap etc. d. Originals if scanned, photographed and emailed must be handed in at the next league meeting 10.03 All late, missing and/or incorrectly completed result sheets will incur a 5.00 fine, deducted from the offending teams end of season payout

10.04 The home team must text the result e.g. 5-7 before midday on the day following the match. It would be helpful if the away teams notify the League Registration and Fixture Secretary (Dean J Apes) of the match result, by text (0778-0950015) following completion of the game 11.00 Triples, Pairs and Singles Knockout Match Format 11.01 All individual, pairs and triples matches (playing order will be determined on a spin of the coin; matches that are level, e.g. 1-1 or 2-2 will be decided on an additional spin of the coin) will be played on a Monday Night using the following format: a. Singles 501, best of 3 legs, straight start, double start finish, semi-final and final best of 5 legs b. Pairs 701, best of 3 legs, straight start, double start finish, semi-final and final best of 5 legs c. Triples 901, best of 3 legs, straight start, double start finish, semi-final and final best of 5 legs 11.02 Any triples, pairs or individual not fulfilling fixtures at the stipulated venue will forfeit the match. Alternative arrangements must have prior approval of the League Registration and Fixtures Secretary 11.03 All Pairs Knockout players must be named on the team registration sheet. No other team member can be substituted when a player is unavailable unless it is in the first round and the players have yet to play 11.04 Triples teams may name a maximum of four players; any three of the four named players may play in any of the matches 11.05 It is good darts etiquette for losers to mark the next game, failure to do this (where noted) may result in the offending Team incurring a fine 11.07 It is the responsibility of the winning individual, pairs or triples, playing last to text the results and submit the results sheet; failure to do so will result in a 10.00 fine deducted from the offending teams end of season payout as long as it brought to the attention of the official who will notify the League Committee in a timely manner 12.00 Presentation Night, Trophies and League Payouts 12.01 The following Trophies will be presented at the Presentation Evening: a. League Winners and Runners-up b. League Cup Winners and Runners-up c. Triples Winners, Runners-up and Semi-Finalists d. Pairs Winners, Runners-up and Semi-Finalists e. Singles Winners, Runners-up and Semi-Finalists f. Secretaries Cup Winners and Runners-up g. Most 180s scored over the season (league, league cup games and competitions) h. For the singles player of the year (best winning percentage) For eligibility a player must have played a minimum of 75% of league and league cup games i. For the singles player of the year (total number of wins) j. All winners and runners-up will receive an additional cash fund 12.02 League and League Cup winners and runners-up will receive 8 medals/trophies per team, any further medals/trophies (up to 4 maximum) may be requested, the money deducted from the

prize fund. 5.00 per man (up to 40.00 maximum) can be offered in lieu of trophies/medals however the league must be notified by the league meeting in March of your teams preference 12.03 All teams will receive a cash payout, determined by league position 12.04 Subject to sponsorship there may also be trophies and medals (League and League Cup games) presented for: a. For the seasons highest checkout b. For the least number of darts to win a leg of singles 12.05 Subject to sponsorship any player who scores a 180 during the season (League and League Cup games) may also receive a 180 pin badge 12.06 All trophies must be returned to the League before the October League Meeting. Any lost trophies or trophies not returned by the October Meeting will result in the offending team forfeiting all league monies due. Failure to return a trophy in a sound or clean condition will also a 20.00 fine will be incurred. 13.00 League Meetings and Miscellaneous Rules 13.01 League meetings shall be held at 7pm on the first Wednesday of every month (unless otherwise notified) at a venue to be determined 13.02 All teams must be represented at league meetings; there shall be no dual representation permitted under any circumstances 13.03 An attendance sheet will be provided and must be signed. Any team who has signed the attendance sheet will be excluded from the monthly prize draw. Offending teams will pay double at the next meeting and serial offenders may forfeit their league place. Teams will be allowed one apology per season however you will still not be included in the draw 13.04 A draw shall be made at each meeting with the following prizes awarded: a. First prize 40 b. Second prize 30 c. Third prize 20 d. Fourth prize 10 13.05 The League Management Committee will consist of: a. A Chairman (Dean J Apes-Westoe Room) b. A Minutes Secretary (George Coser-Royal British Legion Bar) c. A Treasurer (Dean J Apes-Westoe Room) another member of the committee will collect registration and monthly fees at the meetings d. A Registration and Fixtures Secretary (Dean J Apes-Westoe Room) e. Two of the following four committee members will act as draw officials (John Bennett- Westoe Nomads, Martin Auty-Prince Edward, Tony Mohammed-Voyager, Ronnie Stidolph-County) 13.06 A quorum of three must be present to deal with League Business 13.07 An Annual General Meeting shall be held annually 13.08 The League Management Committee shall hold a Rules Revision Meeting each September with the new rules being tabled at the October meeting for sanction

13.09 All League Rules shall stand for one season after Rules Revision Meeting in October 13.10 The League Management Committee do not connive with or condone any betting whatsoever on matches by any League Club or its members 13.11 Any protests that teams may have must be made in writing to the League Secretary within seven days of the offence; protests will be subject to a 2.00 fee and if upheld the team making the protest shall have the 2.00 returned, but if lost the 2.00 will go to League funds 13.12 Any dispute arising not covered by these Rules will be dealt with by the League Management Committee and their decision shall be final Dean J Apes (Chairman, Treasurer and League Fixtures & Registration Secretary) 07 October 2015
