trip overview More like mountains to see! This trip takes you from crest to coast as you dive into the wildest places of the Southeast experiencing just about every outdoor activity under the summer sun. You ll view the vastness of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the top of Mt Mitchell; then down the carved waterway of the Ocoee River, all the way to the low country coast of Folly Beach. Explore the most wondrous sides of the road less travelled as you backpack, surf, climb kayak, and raft through the Appalachian hollows, and Atlantic swells of Mountains to Sea. MEET DEPART TRIP DATES JUNE 12 JUNE 25, 2019 JUNE 29 JULY 12, 2019 JULY 16 JULY 29, 2019 CLT CHARLOTTE, NC (CLT)

highlights Learn to Rock Climb the granite face of Looking Glass Rock Backpack the beauty of Pisgah National Forest and conquer Mt. Mitchell Whitewater raft the Ocoee and Nantahala Rivers Ride the tides as you stand up paddle board, surf, and sea kayak at Folly Beach I enjoyed everything that I did on this trip. I enjoyed surfing, whitewater rafting, duckying, paddleboarding, and even the car rides. There was never a time I was not enjoying myself Myles Spiess, 13, Greenwich, CT DOLOMITES SUMMER 2018

DEPART DAY 1 DAY 2-4 DAY 5 day by day Land in Charlotte, NC where your leaders will be there to greet you. You and your new team will hit the road and head for the Blue Ridge Mountains, where you ll spend your first night together in Brevard, NC preparing for your backcountry section. *Itinerary and order of activities subject to variation. Strap on your backpack and walk among the lush and lovely wilderness of Pisgah National Forest. With everything you need on your back, you ll learn to sleep, cook, and be comfortable in the backcountry. This section will get you into the rhythm of rising with the summer sun, and sleeping beneath the stars. You ll have time to really bond with your group and realize what it means to be on an expedition. As your wilderness skills grow, you ll get a chance to summit Mount Mitchell at 6,683 feet, the highest peak east of the Mississippi River! Emerging from the backcountry you ll travel to the Nantahala Outdoor Center, where you ll trade your backpack for an inflatable kayak. Paddle the fast and fun Nantahala river, carving through the Appalachian mountains. Finish your river run down Nantahala Falls rapid, and watch and cheer as everyone in your group tackles the drop. Spend the afternoon in the trees as you zipline and traverse the Nantahala Outdoor Center ropes course.

DAY 6 DAY 7 DAY 8-10 day by day Testing the skills you made on the Nantahala, you will take on a whole new level of rapids on the Ocoee River. Ride the wave trains as you whitewater raft this exhilarating river on a raft. Learn to paddle as a team, navigating the infamous and aweinspiring Tablesaw rapid. Finish the day preparing for your rock climbing section. Learn the ropes of rock climbing, (and how to tie them) as you ascend Looking Glass Rock. This famed rock feature is the perfect place to get vertical, and to take in views of the entire Blue Ridge. Professional guides will teach you to belay, harness up, and tie in to technical climbs such as Second Coming and Bloody Crack. Celebrate your day on the crag with an afternoon dip at sliding rock, the Blue Ridge s most fun natural waterslide. It s time to take this trip to the South Carolina Coast! Spend the day enjoying some rest as you make your way towards the live oaks of Charleston, SC. Then, Travel to Folly Beach and explore the low country from the belly of a sea kayak. You ll have an all access pass to remote barrier islands, tide pools, and hidden coastlines only accessible by boat. You ll also get to experience world-class wildlife watching on a boat ride through Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, birds, and even alligators! For these two days, you ll kayak, hike, and explore the wetland waterways in the low country.

DAY 11-12 DAY 13-14 day by day Rise with the tide and learn to surf. Spend the morning in surf school reading waves and paddling to catch them. Before long you ll be peeling off the swells of the Atlantic and feel right at home. After you ve mastered surfing, try out a stand up paddle board. The low country Atlantic ocean is the perfect body of water for exploring the swells and balance of these two adventure sports. In these last days, you ll make your way back to North Carolina where you ll spend a day exploring the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. Then you ll celebrate your last night together as a team with a final and well deserved banquet. Remember and reflect on all the fun and adventures you ve had before your final night together as a team.
