We look forward to seeing all of the players, parents and friends at our tournament, and hope that everyone enjoys some fast and exciting hockey. Due to the fact that we must maintain our schedule, the time on the wall clock will dictate when a game ends. Each game will end with two minutes remaining in the designated ice slot, regardless of the time remaining on the game clock. Game Points: 2 points for a win 1 point for a tie 1 point for each period win ½ point per team in the event of a tie 1 point for 10 minutes or less in penalties Maximum of 6 points will be awarded to a team per game Tie Breaking Rules: In the event that two teams in the same Pool are tied in total points, after the completion of the four game round robin, the order of finish will be determined by: 1. Winner of head to head match-up, then (if necessary) 2. Most periods won, then (if necessary) 3. Fewest penalty minutes, then (if necessary) 4. Goal differential (goals for minus goals against between the two teams in the same pool who may be tied for points at the end of the round robin). If a playoff game is tied after regulation play (semi-final games, and the Tournament Championship game), the winner will be determined in a 5 minute, 4 on 4 sudden death period, followed by a 5 player shoot-out (if necessary). If still tied, 5 different players will be chosen and it will be sudden death shootout format.

As always, parents, spectators and off-ice supporters are encouraged to use positive feedback to players and avoid open criticisms of play and officiating. All team officials, players and parents must understand and appreciate that our on-ice officials are volunteers. They are BC HOCKEY certified, experienced, skilled and capable. They are, however, only human and may make mistakes. In the spirit of fun and fair play, we are expecting that our officials will be treated with respect. Any abuse of on-ice officials will not be tolerated. NO abuse of any kind for any reason will be tolerated, on or off the ice. Emotions can run high in competitions and despite our best efforts there may be frustrations for visiting players, coaches, and families. If you have a concern (or an accolade), we request that the coach or manager submit a written documentation of the specific issue. These can be dropped off at the raffle table. Tournament Coordinators will make every effort to resolve issues immediately. Decisions made by tournament coordinators are final. Please be advised that all teams are responsible for ensuring that the dressing rooms are left in a clean condition upon departure. The management and staff at Oceanside Place have a strict policy with regards to dressing room clean up, and will levy a financial penalty against any team (not Oceanside Minor Hockey Association) for damaged or unreasonably messy dressing rooms. Please ensure that the players use the garbage receptacles provided. Teams are responsible for the security of their dressing rooms and players should be supervised at all times. A padlock should be brought to secure the dressing room door, as we are not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
