SHOW QUALIFIERS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2014 HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW HUTCHINSONS DOMESTIC STAFF AND BARLEY HILL SHOW TEAM PURE BRED RIDDEN CLASSES 37, 38 & 39 Classes are judged by two judges. Marks are awarded for Ride (maximum 50) and for type and conformation (maximum 50). In the case of equality, the horse with the highest conformation mark will be deemed the winner. If there still be equality at this point, then the Judges decision will be final. The qualifying horse will be the highest placed exhibit within the first five in the ridden Arab classes which have been granted Horse of the Year Show qualifying status. The exhibit must not have previously qualified and must have an AHS Q Card displaying the name of the horse. AHS Q Cards cost 25 per horse per season and must be purchased at least one week before the date of the class in which the horse will compete. Proceeds will be used for sponsorship at Horse of the Year Show AHS Q Cards are available from The Arab Horse Society, Windsor House, Ramsbury, Marlborough, Wiltshire. SN8 2PE.. Please make cheques payable to Arab Horse Society. All queries should be directed to Windsor House. Telephone 01672 520782 Results will be checked and any horse found not to have been issued with an AHS Q Card within the specified time will be deemed not to have qualified. Qualification will then pass down to the next eligible horse within the first five. There will be no opportunity to retrospectively pay the fees HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW METALWOOD FENCING AND THE ARAB HORSE SOCIETY RIDDEN PARTBRED PONY OF THE YEAR CLASS 77 Judged by two judges. Schedule available from www.ahsshowsandevents.com BRITISH AMATEUR HOME PRODUCED ARABIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS (BAHPAC) CLASSES ELIGIBLE ALL IN HAND AND RIDDEN The British Arabian Championships are held in conjunction with the British Amateur Home Produced Arabian Championships (BAHPAC) 6th September 2014 details of how to qualify, qualifying cards and rules and regulations can be found on www.bahpac.co.uk RIDDEN ARABIAN STAR SERIES (RASS) CLASSES ELIGIBLE 34 & 35 This is a qualifying show for the Ridden Arabian Star Series (RASS). The two previously unqualified horses from within the first two in each RASS class will qualify to enter the Championship to be held at the UKIAHS at Addington on 23rd August 2014 Open to Pure Bred Arabians which have not qualified for Horse of the Year Show at any time during 2014. Horses already entered for RASS classes which then qualify for Horse of the Year Show will no longer be eligible to enter the ring to compete in any RASS class and all card purchase fees will be forfeit. No qualification for the Series will be passed down in the event of a qualified exhibit withdrawing for any reason. Each horse entering the class must have a RASS card which must be signed in the ring. Cards may not be brought into the ring after the commencement of the class. Cards cost 20 and can be purchased from Ms Louise Maryon, Blaenffos, Bwlchygroes, Llandysul SA445JY. Please make cheques payable to Ridden Arabian Star Series. Please send SAE. Cards must be purchased a minimum of 14 days before competing in a RASS qualifier. Horses must be registered in the name of the owner with the AHS. Exhibitor and Rider must be members of the AHS. It is the responsibility of exhibitors to check full details and rules available at www.riddenarabianstarseries.co.uk Qualified exhibitors must return the signed card to the RASS committee within 10 days of qualification for the championship class as indicated on the card if they wish to participate in the championship class to Ms L Maryon, Blaenffos, Bwlchygroes, Llandysul. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. BSPA / EQUIFEST IN HAND PIEBALD / SKEWBALD (Classes 66-67) Open in Hand Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age. The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championships. Subject to their show rules & conditions Classes may be divided according to entries YORKSHIRE SUPPORTERS / EQUIFEST RIDDEN PART BREDS (Classes 70 71, 73-80) Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Exhibits in this section must be registered in the Part Bred section of their respective Breed Society. Registration numbers must be stated on the entry form. Horses and ponies will not be ridden at the final. Riders any age. Classes may be divided as follows: Ridden Part Bred stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 148cms Rider any age. Exhibitors for the National Crabbet Championships must enter on the AHS National Show Schedule Entry Form AFTER they have qualified but not before. b. Late qualifiers can enter up to the end of June 2014 by contacting Linda Nicholson at the Arab Horse Society office. All entries will be checked by the Crabbet Organisation. c. All horses forward MUST be shown in a natural manner. The pose must be natural, i.e. one fore leg slightly behind the other and one hind leg slightly behind the other. The head should be held with the neck showing natural arch and curve of throat line, so that the neck is not uncomfortably stretched or raised. The horse should be trained to stand sensibly in this position with expression of interest in the handler. A frozen pose is unacceptable. d. Any unnatural posing, flicking with a whip or circling when being run out, will result, at the Judge s discretion, in the horse being judged as though no presentation or display had been possible and therefore penalized accordingly. e. Whips must be no more than the length of a cane 65 cm. Halters can be modern as long as they are comfortable for the horse. Promotion and Marketing Opportunities The organisers of the National show are aware that the promotion and marketing of Arabians and their production is now an industry in itself and would like to provide opportunities at the show for Studs, Handlers, Producers and other Businesses to reach out to Exhibitors and Spectators. Promotional Booths within the trade stand area can be used for displaying photos, videos etc. and utilised for hospitality purposes (restricted to 7am-10pm). Cost 300 3m x 3m. Open space for own marquees available from 180. Timed presentations The smaller ring in front of the stables is available at set times to present horses to the public. It has the benefit of a grandstand and, if required, use of the PA equipment can be arranged at extra cost. Presentation slots are an opportunity to display horses that may not be entered in the show. Horses cannot be displayed or promoted in this area prior to any classes or championships they may be competing in. Presentations will be listed in the Show Catalogue if details are supplied prior to going to print, and will be announced by the main commentator during the show. Cost 100 per ½ hour. Literature and promotional material distribution The Show welcomes the presentation by individuals of promotional material to spectators but respectfully requests that approval is applied for prior to the show, and a donation made. Banners and Displays Prominent sites around the show ground are available to place pop up banners and to display promotional materials. Please contact us for costs and to discuss your requirements. Decoration of Stables Display materials, presentations and promotional items within the Stable areas and walkways will only be allowed by prior permission of the Show Secretary, there will be a fee charged. Studs, producers and trainers are encouraged to participate in the new for 2014 Breeders and trainers village. Marketing opportunities Other marketing opportunities are available throughout the show. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 2014 This Show is affiliated to the Arab Horse Society and to the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations. The rules of both organisations apply to Pure Bred In Hand classes but ECAHO Rules take precedence where there could be a clash or conflict. Other classes at the show are outside the jurisdiction of ECAHO and are governed by AHS Rules only. Foals that are not registered by the time of the show are covered by AHS Rules only. The ECAHO Disciplinary Committee is responsible for enforcing the ECAHO Rules and our Show Organiser is responsible for enforcing the AHS Rules. ECAHO continues to grant the special exemption for equine influenza vaccination regulation in Great Britain. Horses at national shows in Great Britain do not need an equine influenza vaccination. Horses that start at international shows in Great Britain or abroad must comply with the vaccination rules specified in the 2014 Blue Book. 1. OWNERSHIP The exhibitor must be the current registered owner or lessee by the closing date for entries. If horses owned in partnership with parties other than family members, all parties must be members to enter the horse. 2. ARAB HORSE SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP Exhibitors must be Gold members of the Arab Horse Society. 3. REGISTRATIONS With the exception of foals, for which there are special conditions (see Condition 11g), all exhibits must be registered in the appropriate stud book of the AHS at the time of submitting entries. 4. RIDING IN AND EXERCISE Exhibitors are strictly forbidden to exercise their horses in the Show rings. Contravention will be considered a breach of the regulations and may cause disqualification of the horse from being exhibited. 5. STABLES Available 7pm on night booked until 6pm following day Please book stables on Stabling Form C. a. Stables will be allocated at the discretion of the Show Organisers. Adjacent stables cannot be guaranteed if not booked at the time of entry. No refunds for stables will be made after 25 June 2014. b. In the interests of Health and Safety no stables will be available for sleeping accommodation for exhibitors. c. Exhibitors are required to ensure that their stables are mucked out when they vacate them. Exhibitors must also ensure that they bring their own mucking out equipment as none will be available on the showground. d. Any exhibitor occupying stabling not allocated to him/her, thus preventing access by the rightful exhibitor will not be allowed to compete for the duration of the show. Please do not assume there will be a spare stable. e. Stables will primarily be available for horses entered in classes or on the show ground to receive awards. Stables will only be available for any other reason on payment of an administration fee equivalent to the standard entry fee, this is in addition to the standard stable cost. f. STABLES MUST BE VACATED BY 6.00 PM OR THE HORSE/PONY WILL BE REMOVED TO A SECURE STABLE AND THE OWNER FINED 50.00 TO EFFECT RELEASE. 6. No vehicles will be allowed into the stable area. If exhibitors need to take a car or additional vehicle into the Horsebox Park a Car Park Pass MUST be purchased at a cost of 30 for three days. Please book this on your Remittance Form. 7. HORSEBOXES a. No horse may be left in a horsebox overnight. b. All people living in horseboxes must ensure that they know the location of the nearest fire-fighting equipment. c. All vehicles on the lorry park must be equipped with a fire extinguisher. d. Access and egress from the site must be kept clear at all times. 8. TROPHIES Holders of trophies who have not returned them to the AHS office at Windsor House by the closing date of entries will have their entries refused. 9. AMALGAMATION AND DIVISION OF CLASSES a. The AHS reserves the right to cancel or amalgamate any class with 6 or fewer entries, or to divide any class if there are sufficient entries to warrant it. b. Class divisions will usually be made according to date of birth but may be divided according to height or sex or into Pure bred, Part bred or Anglo Arab. c. Each division of a divided class will have its own prize list. d. If foal classes are divided they will be divided according to their dam s age. 16 of 27

DISQUALIFICATION In the event of any horse/pony being disqualified whether as the result of any objection or otherwise, the winner of the next succeeding prize in that class shall take the prize awarded to such animal. The result of the class will be reset as if the disqualified horse/pony had not taken part in the competition. 11. ENTERING a. All entry forms and full payment must be sent to the AHS office at Windsor House by the closing date for entries. b. Entries must be made on the official Entry Form B or a photocopy of it. Additional Entry Forms are available from the Show Manager at Windsor House. c. Entry Form B must be accompanied by a photocopy of both sides of the horse s registration document, showing the current registered owner, together with Entry Form A and cheque. d. Exhibitors must give full details of date of birth of entries on Entry Form B. e. Although passports are not sent to Windsor House with entries the organisers reserve the right to inspect the passports of all or any entries to the Show. f. GELDINGS must be registered as such at the time of submitting entries. g. FOALS Necessary registration documents and correct registration fees for foals entered in foal classes must be received by 25 June 2014. If full registration is not completed by 23 July 2014, foals (and if at foot their dams) will be disqualified from their respective classes. 12. However no alterations or substitutions of any entry will be allowed after the final closing date of entries (24 June) Cheques should be made payable to The Arab Horse Society. In the event of returned cheques or otherwise, an administration fee of 10 will be charged and the entry refused until such time that full settlement is made which must be before close of entries.
