Findlay Family Center Moose Lodge #698 Women of the Moose Chapter # 362 1028 W. Main Cross Findlay, Ohio 45840 Business: 419 422 9662 May/June 2016 Lodge News From Our Administrator Todd Achten The Friendliest Place in Town I would first like to thank Deb and John Courtney for volunteering to take on the task of starting our Lodge newsletter back up again and getting the Moose Vision up and running. I would also like to welcome all of the new Members of the Lodge and Chapter. This year s Lodge membership campaign will be ending on April 30th, 2016 and as of Monday April 18th Findlay Moose Lodge #698 has received 115.21% for this year s campaign quota of 217, with 250 new applications for the year. The Lodge is currently ranked 12th in the nation and 5th in the State of Ohio. Congratulations to Brother Edward (Ed) C. Beers who is currently ranked 7th in Ohio with 38 new members signed for the campaign period. If you have friends and family that may be interested in becoming members of the Lodge or Chapter, please feel free to pick up an application for membership on the glass case at the front entry and become a sponsor to them. The Lodge will be sponsoring a benefit concert for Mooseheart on Saturday May 21st staring Elvis Aaron Presley, Jr. And yes, he is the real Son of Elvis and not an impersonator. The cost per ticket is $15.00. There will only be 200 tickets available for the concert and they are going fast so please don t wait till the last minute or you will miss out on a great time. The Annual Lodge Karaoke contest will be held on Friday May 20th at 8:30PM. Winners will go on to compete at the District 3 competition on June 18th at Kenton Lodge #428 for a chance to compete at the OSMA Annual Convention on Thursday, August 4th in Independence, Ohio. If you would like to compete in this year s Lodge competition, please pick up a entry form from the office or the bartender. As a reminder, please pay close attention to the announcements for any changes to the Queen of Hearts drawing nights. The Lodge is a business and is run as such. With graduations and wedding season upon us there are several Saturday nights that the Lodge side is rented out and not available to the general membership so we will be holding some Sunday night drawings at 6:00PM. We would like to think with warmer weather that the Beer Garden can accommodate the large turn out that we are having for these drawings, but we can t control Mother Nature nor pretend there will be no rain storms in our future. These drawing nights and time changes will happen on a month to month basis being decided by the Board of Officers. We are always looking for Volunteers to help out around the Lodge for various ongoing projects. Currently we are looking for someone that would like to help mow the grass for the season. If you would like to help out in any way contact the Office or Governor John Shearer.
