The Crosby County Clover is published by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Crosby County Caitlin Jackson CEA-Ag/NR Crosby County District Photography Results Congratula ons to Cielo Farley, Morgan Griffith, Emily Hudnall, Rebekah Rymel, Rachel Taylor, Hunter Wolfe and Niki Wolfe for compe ng in the District Photography Contest. Their photos were submi ed online in April and judged in May. Morgan had 1st in Plant & Flora, 3rd in Detail & Macro; Emily had 2nd in Animal Domes c, 2nd Detail & Macro, 3rd Element of Design, 2nd People; Rebekah had 2nd Digital Darkroom; and Rachel had 2nd Detail & Macro. 4 H Ambassadors Congratula ons to Caleb Cavazos, Ty Cornelius, Cielo Farley, Bella Mayo, Garrison Raley, Ka e Tucker, Canyon Ware, Mesa Ware, Hunter Wolfe and Nikki Wolfe for being selected Crosby County 4 H Ambassadors. These 4 Hers will be planning 2017 18 Crosby County 4 H ac vi es. An ambassador training will be Tuesday, July 18 in the Extension Office from 10:00am to 2:00 pm. District Sr Leader Lab (Power Camp) About 90 youth from the Panhandle and South Plains districts a ended the annual Xcel Energy/4 H Power Camp June 30 July 2 at the Plains Bap st Encampment near Floydada. Ty Cornelius, Garrison Raley and Nikki Wolfe a ended and Caitlin Jackson was a counselor. The goal of this camp is for the youth to learn about leadership, electricity and team building. Senior 4 Hers should plan to a end next year!! Rabbit Project If you are interested in rabbits contact Angela Arthur. South Plains Fair Rabbit Show will be 9/27 30. Anyone needing help with entries please contact Angela (806 781 6189). Crosby County 4 H Fireworks Stand Thanks to everyone who worked the Crosby County 4 H Fireworks Stand! Funds will be used for upcoming Crosby County 4 H ac vi es. We would like to thank the Wolfe Family for the use of their RV and staying overnight at the stand. Once again a big THANK YOU to everyone to help make this fundraiser a big success. Juniors Morgan Griffith Food & Nutri on Rebekah Rymel Shoo ng Sports Crosby County 4 H Enrollment The 2017 2018 4 H year starts September 1. Everyone will have to re enroll online at texas.4honline.com. The registra on fee is $20 and is due when you enroll. Please contact the office if you have any ques ons or need help with 4 H Connect.

If you would like to enter any of the fairs or need more informa on, please contact the Extension Office. Crosby County 4 H Golf Scramble The Golf Scramble will be August 12 at the Lorenzo Country Club! Registra on at 8am. If you know a golfer, please pass the info to them! This is a great fundraiser for the club! If you have any contacts with businesses please ask them to donate a door prize or sponsor a hole. Contact the office for more informa on. Lamb/Goat Projects If you are interested in acquiring lambs or goats for next year s shows please contact Caitlin or the Crosby County Extension Office by August 18. All Tags must be pre ordered and paid for before the order will be mailed for this next year. Valida on will be completed by the end of October. 4 H Food & Nutri on Be watching the Crosby County 4 H Facebook page for announcements about upcoming Food and Nutri on ac vi es. Food and Nutri on project mee ngs will begin in September. Bob Benson Memorial/4 H EXCELL Golf Tournament The tournament is scheduled for August 14 at the Plainview Country Club. Funds raised will go to: The Bob Benson Memorial 4 H Scholarship Fi y percent of the proceeds are used to fund the scholarship. The 4 H EXCELL Scholarship The remaining fi y percent is used to fund travel for South Plains 4 H members who have qualified for Na onal 4 H ac vi es. EXCELL is an acronym for EXperience, Ci zenship, and Examples for Life me Leadership. Please call the extension office for more informa on. Parents, do you like to cook or are you interested in nutri on? We are in NEED of Food and Nutri on project leaders. Melode will provide the training and all the materials and supplies. If you are interested, please contact Sue or Melode. Ralls Rodeo Parade The Ralls Lions Club Rodeo is August 18 19. The parade will be Friday, August 18th. If you would like to head up the Crosby County 4 H float, please contact the Extension Office and let Sue know ASAP!
