High School Girls Track- outdoor track practice will start on February 25- pick up a packet in the office if you are interested. JH Boys Basketball: Please get your practice and game jerseys to Mr. Holden ASAP. Make sure they are washed! HS Wrestlers: All wrestling uniforms/equipment must be turned in by Feb. 19 th. Also, wrestling banquet is scheduled for March 4, 2019. Seniors: Please submit you senior picture by April 2019 to the Yearbook staff. Open gym/open pool will be held from 1-4 on Sundays in January and February. The cost is $1. Nonswimmers and kindergarten and below must be accompanied by an adult. Please use high school doors. Seniors: Farm Bureau Scholarship Applications are in the HS Office. Please check your email for more information. An email was also sent to your parents regarding this scholarship. Yearbook Sales- You can go to JostensYearbooks.com to order your yearbook online, or have your student pick up an order form in the office. If paying with an order form, make checks payable to BGM Yearbook. Thanks The Poweshiek County Dental Coalition has partnered for a 7th year with local dentists to offer a FREE dental clinic day on Friday, February 15th from 7:30am to 4:00pm. The clinic is for children ages 3-18 who have Medicaid/Title 19 or no insurance due to lower income and will offer exams and limited services as needed. A parent/guardian needs to make an appointment prior to February 8th by either calling Dental Associates in Grinnell at 641-236-6174, Family Dentistry in Grinnell at 641-236-6169, Family Dentistry in Montezuma at 641-623-2013, or Family Dentistry in Victor at 319-647-2141. Appointments will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. A parent/guardian is encouraged to attend the clinic with the child, although if cannot a consent form must be completed at the office prior to the clinic day. Transportation will be available upon request and the need should be indicated when making the appointment. A FREE meal after the dental appointment is also provided for those who attend!
BackPack Program Forms are in the HS office for any students who may want them. This program assists students that might be short on food during the weekend. The voting period begins January 22, 2019 at 11:59 am EST and runs through March 5, 2019 at 11:59 am EST. You may vote once per day. The three nominees who garner the highest number of votes will be contacted via email by March 19, 2019 and invited to attend the Des Moines Register Sports Awards where they will walk the red carpet, find out if they won, and celebrate with other local nominees. The winner will be announced live and called to the stage to receive their trophy.
