The Pride will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday and will honor their four seniors prior to their final regular season home game at James M. Shuart Stadium. Hofstra vs. This Week s Opponents Vs. Old Dominion (5-3) Last Meeting; 2007 (W, 10-9) vs. William & Mary (5-2) Last Meeting; 2007 (W, 11-4) Coach Morgan: Abby Morgan, a three-year assistant coach for the Pride, became the eighth women's lacrosse coach in school history on August 7, 2006. In her first season at the helm, she led her team to a 12-7 overall record, a 6-1 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) mark, the team's first CAA championship and its second ever NCAA Tournament appearance. In addition, the Pride was ranked 16th in the final IWLCA Poll of the 2007 season, and Morgan also saw one of her star players, Kimberly Hillier, named a third team All-American and get selected to play on the United States Developmental Team. The 2007 squad finished the year ranked 22nd in winning percentage (.632) and was 23rd in the nation in scoring defense (10.16 GAPG). Morgan joined the Hofstra staff at the start of the 2003-04 academic year after a two-year stint as the top assistant at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Since Morgan's arrival the Pride has totaled 45 wins, which ranks as the best four-year win total in program history. In addition, Hofstra has made three straight appearances in the CAA championship game and has been ranked nationally at the conclusion of each of the past four seasons.

Streaks and Trends: Hofstra is coming off its second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2007 and also the program s first CAA title since joining the conference in 2002. Dating back to last season Hofstra has won five of its last 12, nine of its last 17 and 14 of its last 23 since a 2-4 start to the 2007 campaign. Hofstra has also won 24 of its last 38, 27 of its last 43 games, 37 of its last 59 and 43 of its last 67 going back to the 2004 campaign. Hofstra had won 12 straight home games against Colonial Athletic Association foes before the 11-7 loss to Delaware on April 6. #6 Boston University, whom the Pride defeated 11-8 on March 15 of last season, is the highest ranked opponent that the Hofstra Women s Lacrosse team has ever defeated. Hofstra has defeated at least three ranked opponents in each of the past three seasons. Since a season-opening four-game losing skid in 2006, Hofstra has amassed a 26-14 record. The 37 combined wins over the past three completed seasons is the best three-year stretch in the history of the Hofstra Women s Lacrosse program. With its win over Towson on April 22 of last season, Hofstra has won at least eight games in eight straight seasons. In addition, with its win over James Madison on April 27, Hofstra has won 10 games in three straight seasons and for the sixth time in program history (since 1976). The Pride is 14-3 in its last 17 overtime contests, having won four straight extra session games and six of its last seven overtime games.
