MINUTES: President Don Copple Sr. asked if there were any questions or comments pertaining to the minutes of the January 12, 2019 meeting. There were no comments and/or revisions. President Copple declared the minutes approved as is. TREASURER S REPORT: Treasurer Tom Clark was excused and there is no financial report. The balance in the operating account as of December 31 is $16,202.00. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS: First reading for Jenna & Benjamin Gardner, Nick Garber, Nathan Hagan, Nathan Hockgeiger, and Christopher & Jennifer Rightley. Second reading and membership approved for Scott & Tonya Robertson. OLD BUSINESS: Vice President Abbott acknowledged that both the Creek crossing and the road to the Outdoor Range need some work and rock. However the weather must cooperate and the land needs to dry out before those repairs will be executed. Even if an opportunity presents itself in the immediate future to put rock in the Creek, the next rain will wash it down stream so please be patient and realize that we are waiting for better weather in order not to waste your money. Don Copple Sr. again thanked Jamie McKown, Mike Smith and the Youth Program parents for providing the meal at the annual meeting. He also thanked the persons who signed up for showing up for this event. Last November the club once again hosted Borden High School for their annual Turkey shoot. Please see the pictures and report filed by our fellow member Toby Cheatham with pictures at the end of this newsletter. NEW BUSINESS: Donnie Abbott made the request that the club once again sponsor the Falls of the Ohio Friends of the NRA banquet with a donation of $300. A motion was made, seconded and passed authorizing this gift. Our Youth Program has been a beneficiary of this fund raising event. President Copple Sr and his wife Terry represented the club at the last R&K gun show held in Louisville. They handed out applications and provided information to those interested. The gun shows provide a good venue to advertise the club. George Eberhardt said that he will hold a M1 Garand clinic on March 9. Look for this item under upcoming matches. Minutes of the February 6, 2019 meeting submitted by Ron Bekebrede.

Borden High School would like to thank the Club for allowing us to use their facilities for our annual Turkey Shoot. Once again, it was a huge success! Special thanks to range officer and member Doris Ooley for her help and professionalism. Also thank you to Clark County Captain and School Resource officer Nick Mobley for his help in instructing and helping Doris with safety. I feel we do a nice job at Borden implementing activities within our Outdoor Club, which teach students proper gun safety and handling. Our goal is to introduce lifelong hobbies and sports to our students while shedding a positive light on guns and our youth. As an example, we are in our second year of a competitive Trap shooting league. Our students earn a varsity letter for this activity, just like all other sports! We truly appreciate the relationship Borden High School has fostered with the Southern Indiana Rifle and pistol Club. Member, Toby Cheatham
