ALSC Week 13 Newsletter 2016/17 This is an exciting week for ALSC and sees us host our first ever carnival at Altona; a strong endorsement of our growth and achievements as a club over the past few years. As the Nippers season draws to a close, there are a few particularly important events to go before we re done, including our Torquay beach Nippers session and our club carnival to close our the season. We encourage you to save the dates for both our Junior (Nippers) and Senior presentation events, the dates of which are listed below. As a club, and a community, it s important to celebrate the efforts and contributions of all those involved in making ALSC and the broader surf life saving movement such a fantastic institution to be involved in. Please take note of the important information and dates and don t forget to sell and return your raffle tickets by our last Nippers session on Sunday 5 th March ready for our Presentation Day on Sunday 19 th March. NIPPERS: This Weekend (Important!): Nippers will run at the usual time this weekend (10:00am 11:30am) however the session will run alongside the Senior Beach Carnival we are hosting. As a result of the positive feedback received from last year s visit, we also have the Australian Marine Mammal Conservation Foundation returning again this week to talk to the Nippers about our wonderful Port Phillip Bay environment. Where possible we will also give the Nippers a chance to see the carnival in action so that they can see and understand what goes on at carnivals and can cheer on

our Altona competitors. Parents may like to accompany their children before or after the session to do the same. PLEASE NOTE: For this week, Under 14s are also asked to report to Colin Stanley prior to the session commencing.
