WELSH PART-HORSE GROUP AWARD RULES. These Awards are for ridden Welsh Part-Bred Horses competing in Affiliated Dressage, Endurance, Eventing and Showjumping, (British Dressage, Endurance GB, British Eventing and BSJA), with the exception of the entries in MERIT AWARD where Sporthorse Breeding GB Showing and Sport Horse Classes, Pony Club and Riding Club Competitions, Riding for the Disabled, Polocrosse, Le Trec, Shires S.J., Trailblazers or any other officially recognised competition will be taken into consideration. ENTRY/NOMINATIONS FREE. Owners will complete a Competition Record Form, and send it to the Awards Coordinator: *To be received no later than Friday 21 st October 2011. Name of Owner, address, email address and telephone numbers (including mobile). Registered W.P.C.S. and competition name/s and numbers. Attach a photocopy of current W.P.C.S. Registration Document. Name/s of Rider/s, and if entering the Young Rider categories of 25 and under Riders date of birth is mandatory. Owners may enter more than one horse. Breeders of Welsh Part-Bred Horses may nominate entries but these must be accompanied with written consent of owners. All entries must have been registered under the Part-Bred register with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. The Awards Coordinator will verify all results (based on computer records) with the appropriate affiliation organization/s relating to the specified discipline/s. All Awards will be made at the discretion of the Welsh Part-Bred Horse Group Committee to the Owners and Breeders of the Welsh Part- Bred Horses achieving an outstanding achievement in one or more discipline. Results will be announced in November 2011 and the presentation of prizes will take place at a Presentation Lunch, to be scheduled for Wednesday 7th December 2011. THE PIONEER AWARDS The Pioneer Awards are for Young horses of 7 years of age and under. These awards are to identify and highlight the most talented Young Horses currently competing in affiliated Dressage, Eventing and Showjumping. THE STALLION'S TROPHY This Award is made at the discretion of the Welsh Part-Bred Horse Group. For the best performance by a registered Welsh Part-Bred Stallion, four years of age and over, participating in any of the Welsh Part- Bred Horse Group's Special Awards Schemes To the winner: THE PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHY: (A Silver Cup). Registration Document. Name/s of Rider/s, and age if a Young Rider. THE SHOREHAM STUD - TRAINING BURSARY This generous Award is made at the discretion of the Welsh Part-Bred Horse Group. The Award will go to a talented Welsh Part-Bred Horse that is showing the most promise competing in affiliated Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping or Endurance - and in the Committee s opinion will most benefit from a course of instruction from an appropriately qualified Professional Trainer of the Owner's choice. The recipient of the Shoreham Stud Bursary must be prepared to cooperate in the promotion of the Welsh Part-Bred Horse Group ethos through the equestrian media. YOUNG RIDER AWARD The under 25 Young Rider Award 2011 - (Rider under 25 on the 1 st January 2011) To be awarded to the Rider of a Welsh Part-Bred Horse who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in any category/categories during 2011 Competition Season.
MERIT AWARDS This award is for Horses that have achieve an outstanding performance in any discipline not covered by the other Awards I.e. Sporthorse Breeding (GB) Showing and Sport Horse classes, Pony Club and Riding Club, Riding for the Disabled, Le Trec, Polocrosse, Shires S.J., Trailblazers or any other officially recognized competition. To nominate horse/s for this award please send in writing a full list detailing the horse s performance achievements. The award is made at the discretion of the Welsh Part-Bred Group. WPBR HORSE SHOWING MERIT AWARDS. The Welsh Part-Bred Horse Group decided to stop the showing award series in 2005. These awards had run for 12years and had exceeded the original objective of increased profile and publicity for horses of this breeding in the show ring. The Group refocused its energy and budget now work with show societies to introduce more dedicated Welsh Part-Bred Show Sections. In 2011 the Group will offer Merit Award Rosettes to any horse that achieves success in any affiliated show ring. Owners and exhibitors should write to the showing coordinator with details of the horse and it s placings in the current season. The Committee will the decided during the autumn 2011 which applicants will achieve an award. Showing Guidelines Exhibitors are advised to adhere to the relevant Society/Associations' guidance on matters of conduct, production and presentation for the show ring. In dedicated Welsh Part-Bred Classes the Group recommends that: Horses should be plaited, may benefit from discrete quarter marks and should be presented in either plain or coloured brow bands. Discrete trimming of head and heels is permissible. Tails should be plaited or pulled and levelled. Foals should be presented in a leather head collar /slip. 1, 2 & 3yr old colts should be bitted and it is recommended that yearling fillies are presented in a leather head collar or show slip but not bitted. Either leather head collar, slip or in hand bridle, with a double bridle permissible for three year olds. Adults should be presented in a leather in hand or double bridle.
