- Fall Hunt Test The St Croix Valley Brittany Club, SCVBC, held a successful Double Hunt Test weekend with the Twin Cities Vizsla Club, TCVC, on the weekend of 9/30-10/1. - Member News FC/AFC Joker s Jackpot 2012 Purina All Age Brittany of the Year It was a success event - due to our volunteers. They coordinated and tested 91 SCVBC entries across the two days, as well as the Being a Double Hunt Test with two point dog clubs, we were simultaneously conducting six events on four different fields, and everyone stayed cheerful, helpful, and willing to 'pitch in' wherever they could. We worked together to prep the fields, to setup signage; to transport and plant quail, to shoot quail, to provide field locations, to communicate running order adjustments and other logistical questions; as well as making sure that the judges and other key roles were supported. The timing of the Double Hunt Test was a risk, since no other clubs in the area host an AKC Pointer Hunt Test in the fall of the year, and it was held after the Ruffled Grouse season started. It was a dry, warm weekend to match the previous weeks of summer. You could see the dust clouds from the heels of the dogs as they would break away running in their braces. It made for challenging testing conditions. Congratulations to the following Brittanys for receiving Qualifying scores: Josie (Carlos and Eileen Gust) Ruger (Diane Hedstorm) Chance (John Ringhofer). Completed his qualification leg for his Junior Hunter title. We had a great group of volunteers and participants. A Special Thank You to our volunteers: Lois Almendinger, John Ringhofer, Rod Dobey, Scott Bell, Jim Hewitt, Suzanne Ridley, Gail Satak, Tracy Werner, Rob Roiger, Brian Salo, Carlos Gust, Eileen Gust, Jackie Swanson, Hannah Swanson and Denise Koslowski for judging My apologies to anyone I may have missed Feel free to contact me for more information or questions Happy Hunting, Mary Tyson SCVBC Hunt Test Chair Congratulation to Steve & Lori Ralph, as their dog Joker s Jackpot was awarded the 2012 Purina All Age Brittany of the Year. In 2012 Jack won the Mid-America Ch., Kansas Ch., Region 17 Amateur Ch., Midwest and took 4 th in the ABC Chicken Classic. Artist Ross Young will present a painting of Jack to Steve & Lori next year at the 2013 ABC Nationals in Booneville, Arkansas.
