It says - Brown, William (Roxie) 2 ch; ret farmer O H&L Washington St., Hubbardston B & Ind tels. William's obit says that he was born in 1844. His tombstone says that he was born in 1841 and the census records support this date. The obit says that his first wife Jennie died in 1874, but her tombstone says 1871 (Oak hill Cemetery, Ionia, Ionia County, MI. I have records that he married Roxie Castle (Jennie's sister) in Dec 1872. (2) The marriage certificate of William L. Brown and Jennie E. Castle states Jennie's age as 20 in 1866, the year of the marriage. This would also put her birth date as Abt. 1847. (3) Jennie E. Brown's tombstone says that she died June 24, 1871. She lived 24 yrs. 5 Mos. and 14 days. This would also put her birth date as 10 Jan 1871. William L. Brown married Jennie's (Emily's) sister on Dec. 25, 1872, after Emily (Jennie) had died. Emily Castle's sister was Roxie Castle. William Lambert Brown and Emily Jennie Castle.
