Dermis Garcia has always shown the ability to hit for tremendous power, but he s now starting to show that he s more than just a one dimensional player. Our coaches and coordinators have done a tremendous job in teaching Dermis how to use the whole field, work deep counts and is more than just an all or nothing power hitter at this point in his career. On defense, Dermis has an easy plus arm from 3B and we ve decided to utilize that tool and have him throwing bullpens and sides off the mound during early work. He shows big promise on both sides of the ball, and the thought is to have him pitch and hit with the potential to be a two way player in the future. We re been excited to see his big tools translate into games with a ceiling as high as anyone s in our system. Hadi Raad, Yankees Director of Minor League Operations
