Dear Friends, The New York Islanders would like to invite you to get out your clubs and step onto the green for a golf outing benefiting the Islanders Children s Foundation. This will mark the 3rd consecutive year hosting this great event. Join current Islanders players, coaches, and alumni on Monday, September 27, 2010 on the Red Course at the Bethpage State Park Golf Course, home of the 2002 and 2009 US Open. Participants will be treated to a gourmet buffet-style breakfast at the prestigious Carlyle On The Green prior to tee-off at 1:00 p.m. Throughout the day, a BBQ-style lunch will be served to all participants. The event will conclude with a reception, in which prizes from the day s round will be awarded and attendees will have the opportunity to bid on several unique Islanders experiences, with all proceeds going to the Islanders Children Foundation. All golfers will take home a duffel bag filled with gifts as a memento of the day. Please join us for a day on the links for a terrific cause. The New York Islanders look forward to seeing you!
BETHPAGE STATE PARK RED COURSE Bethpage State Park was host to the 2002 and 2009 US Open. In 1934, the greens underwent a major renovation which was supervised by the legendary golf architect, A.W Tillinghast. Bethpage operates five different courses to offer golfers a challenge at all skill levels. This year s event will take place on the Red Course. The Red Course is an 18-hole course that opened in 1935. The course features 6,756 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 73.0 and it has a slope rating of 127 on Rye grass. The Red Course will exhaust your long irons and rescue clubs, thanks to the four par-4 s on the back nine alone of 463 yards or longer. Bethpage State Park is managed by Confer Bethpage with Dave Catalano as the General Manager. Bethpage is the perfect setting for the Islanders Business Club Golf Outing and we are confident that everyone will enjoy what the course has to offer.

Bruno Gervais (L) & Blake Comeau (R) Islanders Great, Bryan Trottier ISLANDERS CHILDREN S FOUNDATION The Islanders Children s Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation; dedicated to supporting other Long Island based non-profit organizations that provide opportunities to children. The Foundation works with charities that focus on health, education and amateur hockey development for Long Island children. Since its inception in 2003, the New York Islanders Children s Foundation has raised more than $3 million to aid in the development of these types of initiatives and projects throughout Long Island. ISLANDERS @ SCHOOL PROGRAM We re All Islanders Assembly Program The We re All Islanders School Assembly Program was created to stress the importance of teamwork in life to students across Long Island. During this interactive assembly, members of the Islanders office staff visit local schools drawing comparisons between a hockey team and a school. The Islanders At School Program visited more than 100 schools and reached over 55,000 kids this past season.
Kyle Okposo Bruno Gervais HOSPITAL VISITS Each holiday season, the Islanders Children s Foundation contributes hundreds of gifts to area hospitals. Players and their wives head to a local toy store and stock up for the hospital visits in December. The annual Islanders hospital visits, which have become a long-standing tradition for the organization, is just one of the many ways the team gives back to their loyal fans. ISLANDERS HOCKEY ACADEMY The Islanders Hockey Academy provides entry-level hockey players with an opportunity to play ice hockey at no cost equipment included! The Islanders know that it s a big commitment, both in time and money, for a child to learn to play hockey and want to make it as easy as possible. So, the Islanders provide the ice time and the equipment for children ages 6-14 to begin playing hockey. All that is asked in return is that each child who participates sells 20 ticket vouchers to any combination of select games as a fundraiser. They are then ready to receive the complete bag of hockey gear and step onto the ice for some professional hockey instruction. The Islanders Hockey Academy introduced the game of ice hockey to over 200 children during the 2009-10 season. For more information go to newyorkislanders.com/academy
