Girl Scouts 100th Year Anniversary Events and Smash Zone Mobile: Did you know that USTA NorCal will be attending the Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary Events in Northern California? As part of our many partnerships with local youth organizations all over Northern CA we will be promoting 10 and Under Tennis at the upcoming Girl Scouts Anniversary Events in Sacramento and Alameda. Smash Zone Mobile will be at the Alameda Fair Grounds event on May 5th. Smash Zone includes a 53-foot interactive trailer, which anchors two kid-sized tennis courts for youth play. The handicap accessible trailer, features interactive activities for visitors, including a Tennis Magazine green screen cover shoot, a Nintendo Wii virtual tennis experience and touch screen kiosks. The kiosks will allow visitors to find a local facility in their area offering 10 and Under Tennis programming, afford the opportunity to design their own racquet (from an array of colors, frames, grips and strings), and to become a USTA member. All of the courts are made of Sport Court's high-performance Power Game modular playing surface. New Girl Scout Tennis Players Looking for Local Tennis Programming: After all the excitement at the Girl Scouts Anniversary Events - I will be looking for host sites in San Francisco and San Mateo County for Girl Scout Play Days (ages 10 and under). This is a great way to promote your Jr. Tennis Team, classes and clinics to a whole new group of players. Please contact me if you are interested in hosting a 2 hour Introduction to Red Ball Tennis Play Day at your courts. The Girl Scouts promote and market the Play Day to over 7,000 of their members around the area. We do all the registration and marketing. I come to help and supply the equipment, prizes, patches, and snacks for your event. Your facility will need to provide the courts and volunteers to lead/assist with the on-court activities. The Girl Scout Play Day is an excellent way to promote your Spring and Summer programs!
