There's so much incredible stuff happening in activities - great art projects and science experiments, fun games and improved swimming, kids working together in Disco (further proof that Disco has the power to create world peace), etc. The campers enthusiasm for all things (ranging from the activities to the Mac-n-cheese simply astounds me and warms my heart. The only hiccup this week was that as I emailed you the weather for Friday looked pretty terrible so we pushed the carnival to next week. The result is that next week will be even wetter and wackier with the carnival, the Dutch Springs trip for Group 7 and the CIT's some waterfights, and some other fun traditions and surprises for the campers. One small note from the pool - we have a supply of goggles we keep out there for campers to use if they forget their own. A bunch of these have disappeared this summer as I believe campers have borrowed them and then taken them with them as they go on to their next activity (not maliciously obviously). If your child came home, or comes home, with goggles that aren't theirs, they're probably ours and we'd love them back so there are enough for campers to use when they need them. Thanks for your help with this! Beyond that, thank you for all you're doing to help make this a great summer and have a wonderful weekend! P A G E 2 Group Two campers practice diving on a hot day. What could be better? Group 2 By: Beckett Storey This week at camp, group two made butterflies in art. Tyler Baranchuk enjoyed making them because they were so fun to play with! In sports, we played counselor-hideand- seek. We thought it was fun finding where the counselors were hiding! We made bubble wands in science, and built bridges out of K Nex in DISCO. In swim, we did stations where we treaded, jumped in the deep end, and dove for rings. Tyler got better at diving for rings as the week progressed. The water was nice and warm! In flex, we made shapes and designs out of perler beads. We are really looking forward to the Carnival where Group 2 counselor Emma McCleery helps her camper practice straight leg kicking in the pool. Group 4 By Nicole Hauch This week we had a blast! In sports we played a new game called Jurassic Park. Anthony Whelan said the best thing in Jurassic Park was trying to steal the tennis balls from the other team. The best thing we Group 5 counselors can t wait to meet their campers on the first day! did in Disco so far is making the catapults so we can launch things off of them. Charlotte Cavanaugh loves to make things out of paper so the catapults were right up her alley! On the fourth of July our group went to friends houses, had BBQs, played with sparklers and had a great time. Charlotte and Anthony said they were so excited for the different activities at the carnival such as balloon animals, and dunking counselors/scott. Group 5 By Paige Addis I T H I N K W H A T W E V E C R E A T E D I S A G O O D E X - This week s theme is the carnival! It will be amazing. I look forward to dunking Scott and Petito. This week in sports we played Jurassic Park and West-Chester Volleyball. In my opinion, my favorite was and still is Jurassic Park, because I really haven t played a game like that before. In art, we made CD spinners, and we also made yarn strings. Next in science, we looked at glow in the dark liquid from glow sticks. We also made paper airplanes. In disco, we made paper catapults, which was very fun. Then, in swim, we learned strokes and played Sharks and Minos. This week was very fun, and I am looking forward to the wet and wacky theme next week.

W E E K 2 P A G E 3 Group 3 Group 3 had another fantastic week! Group 3 camper, Julia Perry, said she saw fireworks on By Kelly Hauch & 4 th of July and they were amazing! In DISCO we Julia Perry made bridges with K Nex and out of paper! Julia loves playing steal-the-bacon in sports because she loves bacon and you can tag someone and no one gets the point. We loved making bubbles in science, it was so much fun seeing who could make the biggest bubble. To celebrate the 4 th of July we made American flags out of sticks in art, Julia said she loved making it because she likes to paint. We played kickboard tag in swim and everyone loved being the tagger. In flex we played Indian Chief and it was so much fun to guess who was the chief. Group 3 always has a blast at the carnival. Julia and other campers can t wait to dunk Scott! The popsicles are always so tasty and face painting is always amazing! We can t wait to have another great Group 6 camper Lawrence Elmgren & Science teacher Adam Mlodzinski A FRIENDLY REQUEST Please remember to check our lost and found occasionally towels, goggles and knickknacks get left behind. What is one word you would pick to describe yourself? One word that would describe me would be scientific. What are your interests and hobbies? I enjoy reading books and conducting science experiments when I m not working. Tell me about your favorite celebrity or sports player? I just watched the new Jurassic Park and I d have to say Chris Pratt. He s gotta be my favorite celebrity. The man just oozes charisma. He s a real joy to watch. What is your favorite science experiment? I d have to say it would have to be the one we just did this past Tuesday with the bubble fluid. We made gigantic bubbles. There were bubbles like twenty feet in the air. It was crazy! What is your favorite part of camp so far? My favorite part of camp thus far is seeing all of your smiling faces everyday walking into my room. Who would be your dream science lab partners (pick up to 3)? Three science lab partners I d have to say Albert Einstein, that s important he s a good guy to have on your team for a science lab. Marie Curie, very smart and she d help me not get irradiated. And of course, maybe Scott Eckstein gotta have him on the team. Who would win in a fight Batman or Superman? Superman, definitely, straight up, not even a question. Batman is cooler, but Superman wins. What would you say is your spirit animal? There is a groundhog in my backyard, that lives under my shed and it kinda slinks out and noses around all lazy like and I feel like that groundhog is my spirit animal.

IT S NEVER TOO EARLY!!! If you enjoy spending your summers with us, it s never too early to start thinking about attending school here. If you would like some information, please talk to Scott. Group 1 By Emma Salerno This week group one was very tiny, we only had seven kids. Even though we had a small group we still did so many fun things. We made fireworks out of cupcake wrappers and butterflies out of string in art; we played with play-do and drew pretty pictures in flex, we even made and blew bubbles in science. Wednesday was a day off for the 4 th of July and everyone went and saw fireworks, Georgia Crooks even brought her dog! All of the campers are overjoyed for the carnival on Friday. They can t wait to have their faces painted and get balloon animals. Overall group one had a great second week, and we are all so excited for the next four weeks. Group One Junior counselor Sam Silverman relaxes with campers after swim. In week 2 as a CIT, we took Babysitting 101 class. In this class, we learned all about how to take care of babies, keep them entertained, and the basics of CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. We also took our first field trip, to the ropes course. It was challenging, fun, and an all-round great experience. Everyone faced their fears and jumped off the top of the tower at the end. As a team building exercise set up by our counselor, Julie, we all had to stand on a tarp together and flip it over without anyone stepping off! We completed it over two days thanks to a brilliant idea from CIT Nomah. We also had some fun playing games like Sardines and Mafia. We are looking forward to helping out campers at the carnival. We will hand out popsicles and (if we want) get dunked in the dunk tank. It was a great week as a CIT! - Jackson Laing CIT Brief CIT s at the Rope s Course at Hellerick s Farm.

Group 6 By: Will Malone This week we played two of our favorite games dodgeball and kick the cone. Our group, Group 6, enjoys these games because they are fast pasted and a lot of fun. In art and disco we were also challenged by our paper catapults and nail art projects. We learned a lot of hammering techniques. We also in option had a choice of digital memory making, basketball and beads. Group 6 has been a joy these past two weeks and I can t wait for four more great weeks ahead. (Group 6 Counselor Henry Eastburn) Finally, we can t wait until the carnival because we have the opportunity to dunk Scott in the dunk tank. These Group 5 & 6 guys are balling with Sports teacher Jacob Gleason. The Group 6 girls pose for a candid during Option. The Perler bead designs look amazing. Group 7 By: Mark Stave In art we are making pictures out of nails and string and wood. In science we made bubbles with straws and string and we found out that you could even make bubbles with just your hands. In swim we played lifeguard, underwater capture the rings, underwater watermelon. Lifegaurd is a game where you must swim across the pool and someone is outside the pool and they dive in to pull you to the surface. Underwater capture the rings is capture the flag under water and there are 12 rings, the first side to claim all the rings from the other side wins. Finally, Underwater watermelon is where you push a watermelon and you can t hold it, but you can push it with open hand. In DISCO we made paper catapults, and in sports we play a lot of dodge ball and capture the flag. In flex we played mafia and the couch game. In option we choose what activity we want to do, and we can choose between 4 activities. This week we had Basketball, Wiffle ball, and perler beeds. Next week group 7 and the CITs are going to Dutch Springs for Wet and Wacky. Group 7 camper Mark Stave shooting hoops during Option this week.
